Maya Mental Ray and normal maps for environments


Hi all,

I need some assistance of how to light and render an environment in maya using mental ray. The model is made using game specs but i want to get a realistic look. Maya has so much choice of materials and render buttons i don’t really know where to start. Mainly i need to know what materials work best with lights and mental ray.

Any help will greatly appreciated!.



I know this isn’t what you want to hear, but go read the manual. Maya comes with extensive docs that are quite helpful.

Or do a search. This has come up a thousand times.
