Maya Fluids Color + Density simulation

#1

Dear All,

We would like to make a certain figure disappear using fluids. We prefill the fluids’s density and color (using paint fluids + attribute maps). But when the simulation is done, it seems the density and color are simulating independently Have a look at http://youtu.be/1cMf-bpVONA

The fluids seems to move but leaving its color where they originally were. Is it possible that the voxel’s density and color both move together.

Best Regards

Did you set Color Method to Dynamic Grid?

Yes, that was done.

The problem is that the color is mixing with the color values on the grid you did not set. The default color value is grey. To avoid the grey you could could perhaps initialize the color grid first by filling with an average color for your tree… like green. You might also blur the color from your map into the rest of the fluid to make the values near the boundary of the fluid also the boundary color.

To visualize the full color grid you can play with the opacity graph, so that voxels with zero density are not totally transparent.

Thanks Duncan, will try your suggestions.
