Maya 2020 Cache Playback

#1

Hi all,

I have been playing around with the new Maya Cache Playback feature in 2020 and I was trying to find out if there is any option to exclude certain node types from caching. I mean by doing this we can only choose only required nodes in a scene for caching and by doing this we can use optimal resources for caching.

I’m not sure if the option is already there, however I tried using the mel command reference to check if there are any.

I tried the -resetRules, -newFilterParam, -nodeTypes ="+mesh,-follicle,-baseLattices" etc but didn’t get any benefit out of it. Not sure if I’m using them correctly.

Any inputs on how to do this will be of great help.

Thanks in advance,

Hi Christoph,

Thanks for sharing this and I have got the above mentioned command from this whitepaper and the mel command reference, but its not avoiding those nodes while caching.
