Maya 2018 lagging severly with character rig

Hi all,

I am working on a standard biped character rig. mgear 2.4 is being used for creating the body rig, which runs absolutely fine.

I have now started on the face rig (local rig piped into the global rig via blendshape) and Maya doesn’t play nice anymore. When moving the time slider, the controls don’t update anymore and when setting keyframes other controls suddenly jump to their previously set key frames (e.g jaw is keyed -30°, but only when another controller is being moved, the jaw_ctl jumps to its position). It SEEMS to be a Maya issue but I am not sure (or tech-savi enough to figure it out)

The facial controls are parented to the global rig controls. The moment I add a blendshape from the local rig to the global rig, the rig goes nuts. And I haven’t even any corrective blendshapes and such running…

I’m not even sure if this is the right part of the forum or if it is a Maya 2018 issue. I have way more complex rigs based on mgear running without any issues in Maya 2015. Switching Maya from Paralell to Serial makes no difference whatsoever…

Any help or tip is greatly appreciated!
