Wow thanks so much bro! It definitely means alot to me that you actually took time from your day to help a brotha out!! haha…

As far as the animation goes… I will definitely be re-uploading the animation here soon… but first I am going to take every bit of critique into consideration and apply it to what I have thus far…

Again, thanks so much for helpin man!

Hi all,
I’m not sure if I’ll have time to participate this month, but I’d definitely like to try a ball kick, and I like the fact there’s no dialogue.
So I’m not sure how this works, are there any requirements for the rig? Does it have to be a standard biped with upper body and arms?
Do we post all our progress here?

Haha, as far as I know, as long as your character is kicking a ball, it shouldn’t matter what it looks like. If you want to animate a Dr.Pepper can and give it personality while kicking a ball… That right there is the beauty of animation!

Do we post all our progress here?

Yup

Well the blocking PLUS is done pretty much. I still need to go over all the arcs, do a pass on the hands and head before splining, but the timing and poses are feeling pretty good methinks. I also rendered it out for a quicking lighting test to see how it looked.

Any comments/crits welcome!

ps. Sorry to hear about AM Micah. Hopefully, you’ll be able to find someone for the next term.

Wow, I’m happy to have stumbled on these animation sessions…definitely going to keep my eye on this thread

#19

do we need to use a full body rig…or can we use any rig of our choice…like say a ball with 2 legs ?

thnx!

#20

ya feel free to use whatever you would like. this is just fun practice. cool to see a lot of am students in here!!!

Sorry I haven’t been able to come around this month. I hope to find a new apartment by the end of the month. I think by the time the next challenge comes around I should be settled down and be ready to start up again.

freakbaba - Go ahead and use what ever rig you feel comfortable with. just as long as you can still show the topic clearly in your animation. Have some fun, and go wild.

TO EVERYONE - start thinking of some topics because I want to post the topics suggestion thread here very soon. Try not to post any new ideas on this thread just have some patience and we will have a new thread up and ready very soon.

Hopefully, if we can get some ideas in early enough that sounds a lot of fun, but come off too generalized, such as last months suggestion with the Martial Arts/Parkour. We can narrow down the idea to something a little more specific. Like jumping off of something or kicking over an object. I want to be able to come up with something that works for everyone. That way we all can have a chance to do what sparks our interests the most.

See you all Later. :buttrock:

Great ! Thanks Micah-H and Splinter.

Here is my kick. Though it was done quite sometime back, considering this thread and topic in progress, I thought it would be a great way to get some fresh eyes and push it further.

Any feedback would be really helpful !

Thanks!

@Splinter -

The idea of getting new topics and keeping this kind of practice animation going is a very good idea and a fantastic way to share and bounce of ideas. The bonus - we will all learn in the way !

Personally, I will try to be active as much as possible.

Cheers!

@|b

P.S. - I have some other inputs as well as to how to make the most of these sessions, I shall put it in the topics suggestion thread when its active. Thanks!

zedtech - Nice work on your Final Animation. I really like the action of the character. I think that it would have been a little bit more dynamic if the ball came flying toward the screen or over the viewer’s eyes. AWESOME Piece!!!
