May 2016 - Marcus Achtnicht

Hey Guys,

first of all - thanks for the opportunity to participate in such an awsome competition.

I’m new to this forum, but I have been following the competitions for a while.

Here is what I got so far:

I went with some mechanical forms to generate the giant structures. The idea is, that they are generators powering a huge pump/cooler. Since the elevator is constructed from space to the ground, water/ice could be a good material to build it.
Althoug Im not sure if the concept is going to make it into the final dmp.

Im definitely going to place the elevator into an urban environment, to support the story and composition.

Let me know what you think guys

You have a beautiful mystical mood here. I think some touch of urban environment should be done, especially in regard to topic of the Challenge, but too much could break this mood. Good start - I want more :).

thanks for the input dude - im gonna keep it in mind

I would suggest to have some breaks in the clouds and show some environment through. Just a bit, so we get an idea of the distance and scale.

My final DMP for this month’s competition.

I tried to incorporate your suggestions Milan - thanks

unfortunately, I don’t have any more time to work on it, so some of the original ideas had to be dropped.

I can’t wait to see all of the final DMPs

Good luck to all

ok that didn’t work ^^

sry guys

I think your image looks amazing but you have not fully hit the brief. The particles suggest the possibility for traveling beyond the top, however, having a physical connection upwards, as well as showing the link to the ground would help to visually describe the structure and function of the actual space elevator, which the job of your establishing shot primarily is.

thanks again for the advice milan, i appreciate it.

And i hope to be able to use it to improve my future work.
There are still lots of things to learn and to keep in mind.
