I’ve entered the mini-challenge, and now I’ve to destroy New York. Oops!
My dayjob is making film/commercials/promotional-videos, and I’ve only recently started making these matte paintings. Feel free to give me feedback, I’m still learning!
OBJECTIVE: Take the provided plate, extend it to a cinematic 2.40:1 aspect ratio and destroy the city, as if a superhero fight would have just taken place. This can include atmospherics but should ideally not contain animated objects such as vehicles or people, as we will be judging primarily based on the clean DMP itself.
THE MASTER PLAN: The objective is to destroy the city as if it’s destroyed by superhero’s. My superhero is a sand-hero. Maybe like the one from Spiderman? But this one leaves it’s sand behind, so New York will be like a desert!
As shown below I don’t have a watertight plan. Just lots of sand, and a subway above ground! We’ll see where it will ends.
