MaxScript: select an object when his pivot point is in an certain area

Hi everyone, I want to make a Rubik’s cube rig in Max and i thouht about a way but I just don’t know how to do it.

I would like to know if it’s possible to select an object when his pivot point is in an certain area.

for example if we have sphere and a cube can i select the cube when his pivot is in the sphere ?

I don’t know if I’m clear, first topic for me :grin:

Now, if you decided to make a real Rubik’s Cube … from wood, for example … or from plastic … where would you start?

I’ll start by creating the system underneath the cubes with the rotating stuff ehe

The way I see it, the main issues is to reattributes cube to each of 4 controllers depending of their positions, I can’t do that by taking coordonates so i thought about making a “collider field” with spheres placed at each cube spot and reattributes parents with it.
