Matt Drummond and microbeI challenge

#1

Hi all

This is a work of Art and the reason why i became a EIAS fanatic and for me this is the best CG work i have ever seen.

So here is my challenge for you (big challenge)

A case-study of microbeI http://www.eitechnologygroup.com/products/eias_animator

A detailed visual breakdown of the shaders/plugins and technique’s used in EIAS to make microbeI.

We can all learn from this

Mr Drummond was a true EIAS Master

Yes, the movie is cool. I always wanted to know who did the music for it… anyone?

so that’s been around for a while has it ? The visuals are just beautiful and the richness of detail incredible. A simple question from myself is what version of EI was that created with ? 6 and 7 have given us so many bells and whistles (like raytracing !) which make life easier out of the box but I suspect this was created back in the day when it took more artistry and working out to generate amazing imagery. As a user from the early days I’ve always been amazed at the complexity of modelling EI can handle and in my opinion it just gets better and better :applause:

Hi James,

I’ve seen Matt’s amazing clips for several years so I suspect they were produced with EIAS version 5 or even earlier.

Hi All,

I seem to recall Matt had a tutorial on Electro about some of this. The part I specifically recalled was his use of deformations to give the scene motion. Not Sure if it exists anywhere anymore.

OK,

I just posted and then find some of it here. Useful insite to some of what he was doing.
