This was a try at modeling a basic robot body. I’m going to try to have this “robo-servant” look like a traditional butler. I want a very retro, classical look to this picture. I think the Robots movie has probably influenced the look of this guy. More WIPs to come.

Well, a couple of weeks of sheer craziness at the office has left me behind in this challenge. Still, for me, it’s the fun of doing the project, so I’m going to still try my hand at this cool theme. I’m aiming for a kind of traditional “portrait” of a lady and her servant. The servant will be some kind of robot or creature, but it will be dressed up/modeled as an old-fashioned butler. I’d like to have a really classic feeling to this picture. Here’s a quick first sketch. More to follow soon, now that I actually have some time available.

The following few pictures are several rought attempts at modeling the “master” of this scene, the wheel-chair bound woman known as Annabelle. I’m not really experienced in character modeling, but I think I’ve figured out a reasonable technique here.
Trying my, er, hand at modeling some curvy legs. Used a picture of my wife in her bathing suit. (I will not post this picture.

Used a similiar technique of shaping a tall box to come up with the basic mesh shape for Annabelle.
