Hey man, glad to see you in here. That’s quite a concept you got there, it’ll be nice if you could flesh out the details even more, which I bet you probably will later on.
Cheers!

Thank you all for your comments. I really hope I will find the time to finish this entry.
Details will come later.

I start to model Chronos. I never did a detailed human model before so any critiqus & comments are welcome.
Russel
well I’d just say that if you want real life likeness you could have a photo of say
dat Schrchzwarzenegger dude at hand for reference so u can get all the muscles
and stuff right… you could make a simpler model and put the muscles there with textures…
I have modeled about just one lowpoly organic so I dunno
PS. chronos never had a nipple ring so don’t plan on giving him one
it’s a good way to just model a lowpoly first, tracing a referance as good as possible. And then adding detail. You could even add an meshsmooth modifier, and collapse that to an editable poly again, just so you’ll have more vertexes to work with…
And I usually trace the referance as tight as possible first, then i start to change it the way i want it to look like. that way you’ll see more of the anatomy at the beginning. It’s easier to get good anatomy that way i think.
Since it’s not an animation, the polycount isnt that strict. Just add as much detail you want to, and don’t fake things, that will decrease the quality of the image
Thanks for the suggestions.
Unfortunately I can’t find a good reference pic of “Dat Schwarzenegger dude”. Would be great to have one in the Leonardo position. So if anybody knows a good website with reference pics it would be nice if you could post them here.
As I use Animation:Master I don’t have polygons at hand. All the modelling is done with splines. But if anybody likes to buy me 3dsmax I wont say no.
Russel
P.S. Hm, nipple ring. I might give it a try
I did a rough model of the wings. Right now all the feather look the same, but this will change.
Russel
Hi, hehe good modeling here… i can only say one think, perhaps the link between the arm and body must be more “dig” (it’s the good word?
) … i don’t know how to explain in english…
…
and perhaps the arm is too short, but i read that for now, you work only on the body.
Anyway, i’m waiting to see update!!
Keep going my friend!!
Hi Russel, great progress on the model:thumbsup:
I think the wings would look better with a bit more of this shape //
Hard to explain but if you find an angel pic, their wings often have more ofa ‘flick’ at their tips. Also the feathers kinda radiate from the ‘elbow’ joint in the wing a bit more.
Keep up the great work!
New feather approach
Thank you for your comments.
Shoulder and arms are not yet tweak. I just modelled them very basic. But you are right SuperXCM now that you told me I can see that the arms are to short. I will fix this.
DaddyMack: I will rethink the shape of the wings. Thanks for the tip.
Here is a update. I took a different approach for the feathers. Its the first time I used the hair feature in Animation:Master and I have to say I love it. Quite easy to use but very powerful to my mind.
Coming along torsten…hair in animation Master…thats nice to hear…It was my first app…
…i like the feathers…only suggestion as of now would be to create a valley or crease in the shoulder to upper arm area…The rest is coming along…What # is Animation up to now…?
Ok torsten…Take care,work well…![]()
Hi,
its a long time since the last update and I dont think I will be able to finish my entry this time. I got a new job and finally finished my PhD.
None the less here is a small update. Just some tiny tweaks.
Animation:Master has got an improved hair feature since version 11 and the new version (12) has got cloth simulation. But I have not jet tried working with it.
Russel
Hehe, just found this. Mine is about time, too!
Fortunately the similarities end there (whew!).
I really love the work on the wings. Looks great. ![]()
id been trying to construct decent wings and it was a major pain in the butt you have done a better job than me.
