Latest Update: Concept Sketch: Alien head concepts 3

These are getting a little more away from the cliche heads, to a more bony structure. I think these are more successful than the first two sets. I was warmed up at this point.

So I finally decided to do this. Am I crazy? Sometimes I feel like it. But I have had an idea floating around that would be appropriate, so my first step is to get it down on paper. This could be out of my league, 3D and all, but I will try. The pieces of knowledge are there to make it happen. Maybe something good shall come of it. In the least it will be fun.

To all humans and aliens, to those who serve and those who are served, good luck!

Here is a quick sketch of a concept I had for Master and Servant. (Almost like the kind you make on a bar napkin while sipping a Martini).

The premise of the story is:

On a sunny afternoon in the park, doggie’s owner throws frisbee, but doggie gets disctracted by something else! A little UFO on a Sunday cruise becomes the unwitting target of a frisbee-happy doggie. Doggie leaps toward the little UFO, and little alien protects his machine, ray gun in one hand, other hand on the controls. Chaos ensues…how will it end?

I plan to work up some more detailed concept sketches before diving into any 3D work. The concept seems to evoke a cartoon style of illustration. But it all depends how well I can visualize this in 3D. I have two months, so…

I love the way of your idea, it really really difference from any old school tricks!!! This is what should be called “New Age” !!!
It is so very excited when I read the story!
Keep going on it! and good luck

Thank you, moodydog. It’s a wacky idea for sure. I am researching different elements of this to make a more complete concept sketch. Then I will begin the modelling portion.

Nice idea. I can’t wait for some 3d.

I was up late drawing, Coast to Coast playing in the background. I cranked out a lot of character studies as you will see. I wanted to have sufficient direction for the tigher, composed concept sketch I’ll make.

This is one of three Alien head studies. I played around with head and eye shapes, and exploring some level of emotion.

the alien style… heheh
waiting to see the modeling !

More heads, here my exploration took me to heads with eyes “bugging” out of the side of the head. One is literally a light bulb at top. The one at lower right is interesting, almost gives the idea of a helmet or cap.

Yes Rafael, lots of aliens. I can’t wait to model either, but I have to have all the parts worked out, then I can dive in. Should be fun.
