Latest Update: Modeling: frank zzzz

so heres after 20 mon or so in zbrush …working out more things…ill get the anatomy fairly close to what i want then go fot the asymmetry details…give his face the stroke look, biomek eye implant thing on that side…a good split in one of his sides with exposed pipes and tubes.artificial hart and reactor stted in the back more…still struggleng a little on a good way to hook the top half th the lowr, functionally not possible so somehwat close and still coll loking will do…the zbrushin is the funnest for me…still new to it…anyway ill drop some thoughts…thanks

ok so, been sick and have an unusually short milestone at work so didnt have much time lately, now that im felling better ill jam an alnighter one of these days and get alot done, also been debating to rush and get the peice done or take my time and make a killer peice,…so here is ablockin of the servant, i think most of the body is at a decent rez for goin into zbrush, however i need to figure where and how more of the biomek peces attach to the skin so i can get all of the scaring right…disreguard the head, still making decisions about style etc…so ive been working the mechanics of the leg and setting the style the style for the rest of the rovotics…going for futuristic, whitch is looking odd to me but cool…but you get the point…drop some crtis if ya got em…again dont mind the head…hands need a bit of work tooo, and obviosly this guy will be heavily assymetrical when the time comes…until next post…

wow nicely detailed model here great progress
love to see more good luck dude:thumbsup:

I Like this alot so far riz, i think that his stomach as big is it is now, should still be bigger. it looks a tad to flat to me. i also think you should give his pectorals some buldging to them. if his arm was down to his side, his chest would be flexing them muscles. i just think the pecks are far to flat right now.

#7

the model is very nice in its own style and l can tell very professional too. l think what ever we model and which style we use, the most important thing is to make it stylish and artistic. and you did achieve it buddy. keep on

#8

thanks dudes…

Levitateme…you are very correct…this is going into zbrush so it is intentionally underdetailed and sort of flat…gotta build up the form from sculping…most important is that the loops will work well with zbrush…i may go a bit bit bigger on the stomach and will most defenetaly be sagging to one side

akin…thans man thats what im shooting for on him…i can feel motivation buildin so keep checkin n

#9

Nice model, i like the mechanical legs
Good luck:thumbsup:

#10

Magnificent knuckle dragger. The short legs are terriffic. Look forward to seeing it come out of ZB.

Good solid modelling so far. You’ll probably have him posed leaning forwards a bit to counterbalance the mass on his back, so maybe you could do the posing & basic composition before zbrushing so you only paint what you have to (that’s how I’d do it, but you might prefer a full posable dude for flexibility). As for the mech detailing, your model reminded me a bit of this (might be useful for ideas)- http://www.3dluvr.com/marcosss/morearni/abom04c.jpg -perhaps you could do something like that with the belly, & bring the mech parts further up.

#12

mb…thanks man…you make some good points… i think if i posed it first i could get a better composistion giong before zbrushing…but i think i want this guy fully animatable so i might just take my time even if i dont finish…the link you posted is good i will have mech parts all over him, artifical hart and all that…that reminds me im really struggling with the connection between the robotics and the skin…im a functionality stickler…and ive never seen a god realistic model that mixes skin and robotics…everyone just caps their models and doesnt have the skin attach in a realistic way, just like the lnk you posted(no offene to the artist)…i would love some links if anyone has em…anyway ill hammer on this tonight and finaly update.

I like this cyborg guy.And yeah, just as grigor said start ASAP if you want it done.
Or you just wanna make killer image,or just finished,or in the end both…

#14

Hey rizob I love this design, it would be better to critique with a smooth view, but i’ll wait for the next update…hope its soon, cool work

#15

cool and fast starting! good luck:)

#16

ok a little more blockin on the powersource…you get the idea…i figurued i need to work out the anatomy before i finalise the shape of any mechanics or implats…and after deciding to take it slow and make these guys animateable i thought i would expiriment with a new modeling technique…the zbrush then draw the topology in silo after cpncept sciplting scupltng(inspired by pblades).then some light zbrushing to finish (as far as geometry anyway)…this seem like a better workflow for this guys so i can concept crazy cut ins the skin for seams and scars etc…

hi rizob, good modeling, eye to the chest, seems to have a strange shape to the side.

good luck

#19

If you want to tie the upper body in with the mech detailing on the back, you could see what it looks like with some tubes/cutaways following the line of the clavicle (or just above it) & sweeping backwards. Maybe even do the same thing with tubes leading from the ears & where the ribs/serratus muscles go, so the power source on the back looks like a big claw/spider that’s holding onto the organic parts.
