Master and Servant 3D Entry: Krishnamurti M. Costa
Hi Kris! Cool stuff you’ve got as always, I wish you TIME, the only thing that you need!
Hey! Thanks a lot guys and gals
I’m glad that you like it. Well, these are my last two days in the studio and I don’t know if I’ll have time enough for updates until Saturday. Anyway, I HAVE to find time to finish it. I already have something done for the composition and I think the final image will be very dynamic (at least I hope…). Your kind words give me extra energy to keep working. Thanks A LOT! You are great!
Obrigado aos brasileiros pelo suporte também ![]()
SUN,
everything is based on my skin shader (tweaked from Sokar’s). You can see the tutorial on how to create it here: http://206.145.80.239/zbc/showthread.php?t=24033
You can also download the light/shader and make your own adjustments.
The only thing you have to do is change the S1 material slot, adding the red color for “IN” and a bright color for “OUT” and also reducing the specular for all the slots. Works pretty well for clothes
Ila!!!

Here a mini-tutorial on how to have a good control of the DOF using Zbrush and photoshop.
- After complete your scene, click on “alpha” and choose “GrabDoc”…
- Open in Photoshop the alpha image that you just exported.
- Convert it to RGB (image > mode > RGB Color…)
- Click in “select > color range…”
- Click in “Select > Save Selection…” nad name the mask “alpha”
- Now go to “Filter > Blur > Lens Blur…”
- Use similar settings of the image above (depending of your image). You can control the DOF and see the result in the window on left. Click “OK”
Done!

Here you can check the basic version of the mutant-kangaroo with the “little troublemaker”. This is just the first test to see the integration of both characters. Still a lot of work to do. The hot dogs are just props and are just duplicates. The girl need adjustments in almost all parts and the mutant-kangaroo was just started (pose and few details to define his/her expression). As you can see, hands are just started and the body have a lot of problems, just because this is just the beginning of the model.
Hey Antropus,
I just stopped to say thx for the tutorial. ![]()
Every contest you enter you care to show your workflow.
Thx a lot.
Boa sorte!
Thanks a lot for all your comments guys!
Just explaining a little bit, I decided to change my original concept because my intention is to show that the mutant-kangaroo is a good guy/gal and don’t want to make bad things but the little bastard is commanding
My intention is to create contrast in the facial expressions and also in the body expressions. As you can see, the mutant-kangaroo expression shows that he/she is doing this because the ugly kid is in the command. In the final version she will hold a cord with a tight collar in the mutant-kangaroo, forcing him to don’t look back. In the final version she will look in front of her to reinforce even more the idea of different character. I choose the kangaroo for this work because in my mind I tried to find one animal that not only can be controlled and used as transportation but she is almost a parasite, since she is almost inside of his/her body
For the body expression, I tried to make the two main characters going (or trying to go) in opposite directions. The kangaroo want to come back (maybe to help) and the psycho girl want to run away with the food that she just stole. I decided to change my original concept also concerning the hot dogs in the kangaroo’s hands, since he/she is not a partner but kind of slave of the kid.
I hope I can finish this scene and I hope I can tell the story without to have to write it as I’m doing now.
I hope you like it,
Kris
