Here’s an early concept of the main character in the piece. The clothes/colors are just place holders, I don’t think he’ll have a skull on his belt, since i want him to be a very non-violent/innocent character.
The image is going to show this tribe of primitive humans worshipping this lion-child, it’ll be one of those ‘his coming was foretold’ kinda things. Totally Lion-King inspired. The lion-child will be one of 3 unique characters, the lion, a witch-doctor/shaman esque character, and then a base human that’ll be tweaked and manipulated to create the rest of the clan.

Good concept art Kolby. I think since he has face paint, it would be nice to incorporate some nice pain designs on his actual body. Just a suggestion, but I love the look of the character in your drawing.

yep, that’s the plan, he’ll have all kinds of ceremonial paint designs on his body, I just couldn’t think of/was too lazy to come up with the designs last night. thanks
anyway, I’ll try and do a design for the shaman tonight.
