Latest Update: Modeling: Rear Desk
Just working on all the pieces of the scene. This is the desk that goes up against the window behind (or in the case of this scene, in front of) the President.
I’m not sure if I should model the portion of the room out of the scene for reflections and whatnot. I may at least do the basic room shape without every bit of detail.
First I would like to state that I’m quite bad at drawing and this is more of a rough sketch to visualize the composition of my idea and give a very basic visual idea to go along with my concept. Therefore, it’s probably hard to see what it is. I’ll follow up with a more refined sketch.
Now, the concept: The image depicts a generic U.S. president sitting in his chair with his back facing the camera looking through the Oval Office window. Due to the placement of the oval office, I don’t think you can actually see Washington D.C., so I was thinking of having a group of people standing outside looking back in at the president. (Those strange ghostly looking things outside) Therefore, the image could have multiple interpretations-- Is it the President looking out over his people or are the people judging their leader?
This is just a (hopefully) easier to understand version of the sketch. As I’ll be using the real objects that are in the room, I’ll begin modeling the President’s chair and the Resolute desk and also get one more refined sketch up.
Just finished a fairly accurate model of the President’s chair. The legs are a bit longer than they should be, but they won’t be visible in the final scene anyway.
Nice to see I’m not the only one who see’s the “most powerful man in the world” is still a slave to his nation. :]
looks to be a great concept… lots of potential to have some great lighting to highlight different areas and move focus around.

Thanks. I’ve been getting the scene layout from Google Image searches and a company that sells reproductions of some of the objects in the oval office (chair and the Resolute desk).
Yeah!! Nice concept, the models are looking nice too. But i think that you should take in account the several possible scenarios about your subject, in order to make a more dramatic scene. This is just my opinion, keep on dude!!
