Master and Servant 3D Entry: Henrik Vasquez

#2

Started the concept process with this six thumbnails. Just sketching out roughly what I have in mind.

I’ll develop these further by evaluating the compositions and defining the forms.

#5

Looking good. Is that some kind of scarey ritual going on there, or what?

#6

Hi mookid2005.

The arrangement is kinda like a ritual, but not really.

I don’t mean it to be scary. Ha ha ha. There might be some scary elements, but I don’t know yet. Hopefully my next round of sketches would give a little idea of the mood I’m going for.

#7

Second half.

#8

Clarified the initial thumb sketches.

Will do value studies next.

Good luck everyone.

#9

Yes it’s clearer now. At first it looked like a scene from eyes-wide-shut. Now it seems a bit more tame. Sorry, I’m easily scared [i]

hmm, this is interesting, I dont exactly understand whats going on but I gotta keep my eye on this

#11

Value studies, series 4.

#12

Value studies, series 3.

#13

Value studies, series 2.

#14

Value studies, series 1.

I came up with these using thumbnails 2,3, and 6 from yesterday’s submissions. Plus another angle I decided to try out today.

Next, first round of character designs.

#15

It’s great to see such a methodical process. There’s a few good shots in there which could work equally well.

#16

totally agree!

#17

Just quickly sketching out broad ideas.

#18

Quick ideas for headgear. I’m looking more for visual appeal than functionality.

#19

Okay, between these drafts and my sketchbook sketches I have some idea where I want to go with the designs for the background troops. Presentation concepts to follow shortly.

What I want to do next is to concept out the main characters of the scene.

#20

I’m trying to find out what costume elements would work, particularly in a kneeling pose.

#21

These are studies for the General - the kneeling figure.

I’m investigating effective design elements for his costume, keeping in mind what areas to focus on when detailing it out later in the modelling phase. I’m also searching for the personality, and perhaps a background, for this character.
