Master and Servant 3D Entry: Gregory Werner

2 points… one good and one less…

 • the position of the cat is very interesting like that… I love a lot.
 • the biggest character, the bull… is also the first in the foreground… that disturb me a little, the others seem very small now…

#402

Lemog: I’m planning on posing the bull so he’s facing the viewer (wouldn’t want all that modeling to go to waste) Good point about him getting too much attention. I’ll move him around a bit to the back and repose his hands.

#403

nice progress… coming along nicely. I’m impressed with the cat character on top of the pulley… very very well done

#404

Fnatastic, a FF style

#405

Lostsa work you did since my last post here… Shame on me. Yor scene is talking, those realationships between each character is impressive, your solution this way is a perfect examle of classic art, just as the triangle compo. Just keep playin around the environment, it’s gonna be cool. Best luck mate,

Tremo

Versiden: Hope I’ll be able to keep a clean style to the end :)

ilusiondigital: wOW being compared to square-enix…if feel flattered

Tremoside: Just thought about a new enviroment…gonna throw in a run down water mill a bit out of focus (DOF) behind em. I want it to be abit blurred so it doesn’t attract that much attention.

#407

this catwoman (the one from your avatar) is the best character and the most important, no doubt about it. but in my opinion she isn’t exposed enough right now. like lemog says, the bull disturbs the harmony of your scene. I know you’ll repose him. I’m waiting for that update.
cheers mate

#408

grooshka: Moved the bull he looks smaller now, just haven’t posted an update yet  Still thinking about adding the master some sort of object that would give her a more important look…Guess I’ll look for kings symbols and objects of power for ideas…

#409

wow- I really like mood of your work-very cool! yep-bull don’t fit to good.

no i oczywiscie rowniez zycze powodzenia

#410

A sceptre:shrug: ?

#411

Yeah to whack him over the head :p…I’ll give it a go

#412

Slight update on the enviroment. Reposed the bull, might move him around but he’ll stay that size. Did a fake DOF in post to test if the enviroment doesn’t overcrowd the end compo.

#413

Absolutely agree with you! This fake DOF works fine now. Good representation of the idea. Keep that backround simple and well done.

#414

Remodeled some of the background…still need to add something on the right to fill the space behind the bull…need to slightly change the hawks right arm (noticed the error after rendering). Added basic model of the scepter

#415

Hi 3dRaven, now it’s my turn…Dof adds a great feel to it. The imagination you’ve used in crafting these creatures is amazing mate…I’m kinda in over my head here, it’s just quality work:thumbsup:I’ll try tho…I’d add a slightly more dynamic camera angle, it’s kinda plain for the action of the scene me thinks…Maybe looking up at the characters a bit more to convey the sense of power better. I’d go for a (only slightly) less ambient look to the shaders and play with the lighting so that the characters feet are firmly planted by their shadows…Great posing on the four right characters, the three on the left may benefit from slightly clearer communication of what they’re doing…Sorry mate, that’s about all I got short of a congratulations on some fine execution so far, a Keep it coming, and a couple of:thumbsup::thumbsup:s

#416

New background looks good. I think the DOF is a bit too strong, maybe tone it down just a bit. To me it makes things seme farther away even though I know they are actually close by. The master’s dress is still quite impressive to me: it stnads out the most and just looks so elegant. Keep it up:thumbsup: .

#417

DaddyMack: Thanks for the comments. I’ll try twisting the camera to the side a bit and lowering the POV. Might get a better view of the pulley too. Still need to work on the lantern light it’s breaking up the shadows now.

#418

Hi Gregory

Great progress on your pic. I like the characters a lot.
I just found the DOF a little bit to strong. but everything looks great!

Best luck friend!

#419

Ok lower cam angle and a bit to the side. Reduced the fake DOF effect. Which cam is better?? The one now or the previous??

C&C welcome

vampeta, ace4016: DOF reduced and everyones happy

The man seems to have lost his fringe somewhere along the way…I’ll merge it in from an older file. Might move the hawk character onto the balcony to unclutter the left side. Still sooo much to do and so little time…gotta get this into shape

Decided to rip the back of the mans vest. now It looks like the bulls gonna brand his butt …I’ll make him aim a little higher
