Master and Servant 3D Entry: Gregory Werner

#361

Always your style so different, so original, and so excellent… I watch that with some interesting eyes… etonish but interesting. Continue like that Gregory

#362

Ok there Greg…you are coming up nicely here…real hard work and effort,it’s quite apparent, along with passion, there are always a few with extra passion, and you are one of them…and this alone beyond all else will get you where you want…I like the direction again of the beastie…Keep it coming character factory… :arteest:

#363

Looking great. With you rigging and mapping all these characters, you make us guys/gals that complain about rigging and mapping look bad.

#364

Wow I’m gone for a couple of hours and I get an avalanche of posts :). Glad that you all like my progress…it’s getting a bit crowded so I’m thinking of renting the guys 'n gals a bigger room :). I’ll do my best to move them around tomorrow and try and get rid of the overcrouded sens I’m getting when looking at the pic now. I’ll try and send the mad bull to a tailor too by the way.

Gotham: I’ll try and work on the composition tomorrow morning. Didn’t have all the characters earlier so it was hard to set the spacing between them…
czemu nie widze u ciebie linka do S&M potrzebujemy wiecej rodaków w konkursach

Lemog: Wow your complements overwhelm me it’s nice to see such encouraging words from an artist of your calibur.

Virtuoso: What can I say…it’s always a pleasure to see you at my thread…pushing me to my limits inspired by your own herculean effort

Ace4016: Where you been man missed you…guess you finished your last game :D. I’m still waiting for you to shock me with your robot…made nice leaps and bounds with your girl model…not expecting any less of you with the robo

At the end of my mini rant I’d like to thank all you guys for keeping me encouraged with this project…means a lot to me. Hope we all make it to the finish line with our head high

#365

Ok got all the characters in one scene…finally and without any nasty crashing…guess the max god is smiling down on me :)…I might adjust the bulls scale although he looks ok when he’s bigger than the rest…makes him look more powerfull…
Just wanted to let everyone know that the scene will work on my comp and looks like I’ll finish it without tech problems. I’ll be shuffling the gang around tomorrow…hope I get a better light source while I’m at it.

Still have to send the human and horse warrior to the beauty salon

Oh yeah and the bull needs some pants

#366

Hmm, have you thought about doing the picture in landscape? Looks like the amount of characters in here would benefit from a bit of a wide screen. Minataur looks like a good size.

#367

Ace4016: Hmmm a landscape sounds like a pretty good idea…althought the polycount will jump [trees &… good god grass  oh yeah and some flowers for color]

#368

I don’t know if poly counts are things to be afraid of; its the materials and lighting that slow down and eat up cpu and memory. The girl and her clothes come out to 144,00 polys and took only 1-3 second to render with no materials; once I added the materials and 3-point lighting, 48 seconds a render. I guess lighting and shader optimization is the key to decent render times. Although I think grass/hair/fur can take down any system:eek: .

#369

You bet and add particle systems to that list  …textures aren’t that bad if you keep them at a reasonable size…

Top two killers on my list

  • Lighting (shadows)
  • reflections…

#370

Horse warriors going for a major visit at the beauty salon…hope to have an update later this evening

#371

Great work Gregory, all of your characters are very distinctive look! :applause: I really like the fact you put so much into each one. As for the bull’s wardrobe have you considered maybe giving him a tunic or skirt/kilt. Maybe something like this:

Just my two cents.
As always looking forward to seeing more.

Matt

#372

mmbenya: Interesting idea. I’ll have a go at him right after the horse warrior (currently hammering out his armour)…

Hmmm a bull in a tunic never thought I’d see such a combination but it just might work well

#373

Damn a bad day for modelling…had a crash and lost the horse rig…lucky I had it in a seperate file at the time. Will need to reskin him once he’s merged in the main scene. Armour has no textures yet just a diffuse.

#374

Horse warrior rerigged, fitted with armour and thrown back into the main scene…

#375

I’m gonna be rearranging the characters soon.
Got an idea that I could change the scene by making the bull actually brand the human on the arm (still not quite sure how to set this up).
I suppose this would give a better effect than just the characters mostly standing around him…could also add a bit of pain to his face…

Tell me what you think of the idea

#376

Doesn’t sound like too bad an idea. You just have to set it up right. Haha, the minotaur might have a skirt (“its not a skirt, its a kilt!”).

#377

Excellent job on the horse man’s armor, it fits well with the character. That is a good idea having the bull brand the human, that would make a very good scene as well. :bounce:

Hey 3DRaven,
Thats mad i love it. What’s going on? looks like you got quite an ambitious composition going on there. I’ll be watching it develop good work and good luck.

#379

love your pets! oh smart birdie, its so cool to watch you create… just keep on going, your pets rock!

#380

the1st_angel: Thank god they’re house broken

UK3D: Your getting front row seats friend…how you like how this evolves

mmbenya: I think the scenes going to get a lot more powerfull soon…well at least I hope so…keeping my fingers crossed.

ace4016: Already started modeling the “skirt”…I’m gonna look at a couple of scottish sites for reference. The guys know how to design them without making you look like a trans :scream:

Thanks for your support guys
