Trying out a new pose…I want to add more master-servent interation…crits welcomed
Master and Servant 3D Entry: Gregory Werner
Test render to fit the final cast…I’ll probably move some of the buildings around a bit still…Rather happy with the character placement…Might add in a lamp in the black cats paws and fiddle with the lighting soon…try a darker scene…
Lookign good Greg. The clothing texturing and design looks pretty good. Maybe it’s because she has short feet, but it doesn’t look like she’s tipy-toeing. Just a suggestion, you could zoom in just a bit to show the master and servant a bit closer.
Ace: Not too sure about zooming back in…I did a high resolution test yesterday (like the final format) and you could see the fabric bump maps and stuff without any problems…I don’t wan’t this to be just two characters in the end…Guess the tiptoe problem comes from the fact that the characters don’t have very good shadows yet…so it’s hard to see where they tough the ground. Hopefully once I start lighting test this problem will be resolved.
The close up pose looks quite cool…well done Greg…You got an aermy of work in,and all done nicely.keep this up,nice to follow your entry…![]()
Virtuoso: Nice to know visitors a coming by while I’m not here
It gives me the boost I need to get out of a slight burnout.
Been sitting a bit on details now…doing a different lighting setting. Something that will give me more interesting shadows (just finished modeling a lantern for this occasion). Won’t have much time for a while, my day job’s cutting into my workflow lately…I’ll try and rework the cat characters eyes today.
Ok the cats have totally new eyes now…added in a fur bump map so they don’t look so flat…
Modeled a latern for the scene going for some new shadows here and there.
I will probably switch to a night scene or heavy shadows before the challenge is over.
Concept sketch for the hawk priest…he’ll be standing behind the cat character with the lantern…might add more jewelry in the final…going for purple robes
Nice start on the hawk (thought you were going to do a raven:p ). Hope to see that amazing speed soon.
Damn just got my first max crash in months
I was able to merge the hawk into a seperate file…I’ll finish him of there and chuck him back into a little older file once I’m done with him…thank god for backups…
Ace: Little technical slowdown here …(aaaah)…but I’m getting my engines ready…I prefer to make new models than rehash already made ones (cough…second cat…cough) it’s just faster
A quick sketch out of the body…cut up a few boxes and refined them…I’ll connect them tomorrow and try to do something with the feet and arms
You just keep pumping out the goods greg…good for you…Really got an alive entry with lots of nice models and overall scene presence…I never modeled a bird before…that looks quite fun…maybe I will if I have time…only if I had time…
…doing a real nice job here, keep this up,you got 8 weeks worth of work done already…I’ll be watching for more in your ever evolving World…:arteest:
Virtuoso: Birds can be a pain in the a** Especialy when trying to get the feathers to look light…(still have to work on that). Lucky I can add in little human twists here and there makes it much simpler
Guess it’s a pretty much learning experience…

Your human-animal creatures are well thought Greg. You have the sense to feel where is the thin blending line between human and animal. I also like your clean working style and progress!

Thanks…right back at you…your last PU Girls is pure genius
.
My models are still a bit messy in places. I hope that by the next challenge they will be quads only.
Hope CGTALK pulls through till then <keeps fingers crossed>
