Master and Servant 3D Entry: eugene rabok

#11

-the torso seems a bit tall
-if I remember correctly his seppuku wouldn’t be accepted with a facial expression like this
-the background looks great

#12

wow… it’s refreshing to come to a thread and be pleasently suprised.
The render of the room looks sooo good! Good job
the character looks cool so far

#13

thaks for comment grau

  • it’s just a half of torso - and a first test render… i’ll position it properly later
  • this guy is in state of clinical death… just a split second before he falls. his face expression is a convulsive reflex… hi was calm when he started cutting - believe me <-joke
  • thanks for your kind words

#14

i’m glad to see that people are actually looking into this thraed

#15

The concept and modeling is really good, something very different! The characters and house are looking nice already, maybe you coul add some classic japanese view outside the room, visible in the distance through the doorway.

#16

thanks jarvetu.
your reply proves that my sketch sucks. elements of japanese garden were planed to be visible thru the doorway - sakura, pond etc… they are on a sketch (unrecognizable thou… maybe i should put little pointers - “tree” “lake” <-joke)

#17

worked on shogun’s hands - the only visible element of his body (except head of course)

#18

just a quick test

#19

lookin good eug55 … i nice little ritualistic suicide always makes me smile :bounce:

thinkin though that the heads on these guys needs to be sized up about 30% … bodies look o.k. (especially when they’ll have cloth) … but the heads are pretty small to me

looking good

#20

thanks for comment, pigwater

heads look normal to me (i have a small head too - i’m serious)… but i’ll try to scale it back and forth…

#21

just a quick lighting test

#22

I’m really digging your lighting so far. I have some comments, but I want to wait to see the next progress before I start critiques. I like the concept and the idea.

#23

I love the lighting in the room, how long does that take to render and what type of machine you have to pull it off? I always find lighting nearly impossible to get looking good.

At least within a good render time

#24

still struggling with lighting,
also moving caracters around scene trying to find right compositional spot… also i had to create bunch of secondary lights just to balance main light comming from background… i think i have to give up with lights for now and go back to modeling

2Neomage: i have a really slow computer… all my “quick tests” are eternity
2HillbillyKing: thanks for stopping by

#25

practically i’ve done nothing for the last couple of days (1 month old baby-boy demands more attention than i thought)
… only tonight started to model shogun’s cloth in zb (and last weekend spent a bit of time doing face pretexture for shogun as well)… test render - just light cache (to save time)… no reflection, no secondary light … nothing - just to get a rough idea about lightmap

#26

working on shogun’s cloth

#27

very nice,eug55. I like the concept. room lighting look good, too. keep it coming.

ernia

#28

haven’t done anything since last week… just last night worked a bit on background - it’s donna be pond (may be couple kois in it)

#29

it would be nice to add some color diffusion to the window on a few panes to give the image some mood.i really like the render and the overall light of the scene.
what software are you using?

#30

more of background
