Latest Update: Concept Sketch: 3d sketch for composition

A quick 3d ‘sketch’ just to see if the composition holds up in 3 dimensions. Theoretically, all i have to do now is just replace the placeholders with finished models, and the composition should still work… :slight_smile: I’ve never tried this before by the way, so wish me luck! I know it’s a really simple idea and settings (compared to the sistine chapels that i see some other people developing!!!) :), but ill be stoked if i can simply finish this image, and polish it up as much as i am capable. Oh, and if anybody happens to see this and has any suggestions on the composition, now would be a great time to tell me what to change! Thanks.

Hello! This is just my first idea. Simply a child slave about to attack and kill his master with some sissors he aquired. He’s not very happy about it, but is pushed on by his hatred, represented by the little devil on his shoulder (sooo original). I’m going to try to concentrate on the emotion of the faces, but honestly, i think i might change this idea for something more “fantastical”.

Thanks so much for taking the time to say hello! Woo! hehe. I really like what you’re doing with that teddy bear, I’m looking forward to seeing what her other play things look like.

As well as having to learn all this 3d stuff, it looks as if i might have to figure out how posting updates work as well!

I’m terribly excited by all of this by the way :slight_smile: I’ve been just lurking around Cgtalk for ages, getting inspiration off all the great artists and wishing i knew how to do anything. Just thinking that i’d wait until i was a bit better, knew a bit more, before i made any posts… Well, I’m no longer scared to let everybody know how bad i am at 3d art, so i guess now the learning can finally begin. :slight_smile:

Ok, I’ve got a vague semblance of a story! (really cliche fantasy atm). Young boy is sold as a slave to a High Elf lady, While in her care, he starts to learn and pick up how she works her magic and casts her spells etc. He develops a understanding of magic, something which was thought impossible of humans. The Elf Lady is pretty mean (not all elves, just her) and keeps him locked inside most of the time, so all he has to talk to is this deamon imp that he summoned while she was out (it’s only visible to him). Anyway, he gets sick of being a servant, and with the preassure of his “friend” the deamon, he plans to kill his mistress and flee into the forest. He eventually comes back as a powerful sorcerer, though turned evil by his dealings with deamons, and kills and enslaves the high elves.

Hehe :slight_smile: thanks DaddyMack, but I’m going to start the 3D part of it today, so i recon it’s all downhill from here :eek:

All I’m going to try to do with this challenge is finish it. If i can do that i will consider it a success, even if the image isn’t as pretty as i’d hoped :slight_smile:

I’ve never actually made a completed 3D still before. I’m so glad i entered though, it’s very motivating to have to complete something like this.

I don’t know why i did this sketch, seeing as it doesn’t really add any more information to the character… I think I’m just scared of starting to model…Artistic procrastination. Well, i guess i should stop art farcing around and get to it.
