What does someone have to do to get a ā€œhandā€ around here?

O.k. so I have never really been that funny. But here we are starting on the hands, dunno yet if I want all out gloves or the kind gloves that have the fingers cut out…or maybe just plain ole hands.

#83

Amazing model :applause:

#84

wow nice sketch…if i had those skills ill draw mroe then one hahah
just one thing thatll be nice is more definition in the arm…just a little though =)
lol the finger got me for a sec but its nice…and i cant wait till he’s posed and p-i-m-p-e-d
lol.

oh yeah i would say gloves with the fingers cut out because your model looks more like a thug. With the fingers…it will look like one of them ā€œinternationalā€ theives liek what you see on them spy moves, someone that is rich…and slim. Your character looks like hes one of thoseā€¦ā€œi got to have itā€ people and will rummage to steal things…rather then being careful.
get me?

#85

Well the hands are done for now. Hand modeling is almost as complex as modeling a head

Anyway, I have them to the point to where I will either finishing them off as human hands with knuckles or make gloves that will fit around them…but that’s later on.

Sorry for the funky presenation but how clever can you really get showing of a pair of hands. Ladies dont answer that

#86

ps.pl - Thank you sir

Troof - LOL, your killing me guy :scream: but that is what Im shooting for glove wise. The movie bit was funny, ā€œInternational Theifā€ hahaha

#87

Nice modeling…it almost shout out ā€œLook I’ve got nothing up my sleevesā€

Now I’ll sit back and watch the magic show

#88

heya, nice concept!

great start on the modelling… another great thread to follow…

#89

Hey man, thats a might fine hand you got there, looks like you can certainly handle yourself. Or perhaps you just don’t really have a handle on things?

haha ok Im stupid, but anyways, good hand, I like it, but why did you start with the middle finger? are you trying to tell us something?

#90

great progress here mate!:)… already finishing the master eh?

#91

This is the last update with the hands. After my last post I did a google search for some gloves to use as reference, then I started pushing polies and voila.
They still need some tweaking but the geometry is there to do what I need. I might add some spikes or studs to them…who knows.

#92

Goodjob, goes perfectly with the non international thief hahah.
Puttin’ studs will look a little better then spikes…but i cant get a clear spike set in my head

#93

yunisiree - Yeah, I figure if I can model the master and the servant in less than two weeks Im doing good because Im going to need time on texturing.

Troof - LOL, yeah…hell how about putting jelly beans on the gloves instead j/k :scream: it’s easter.

#94

Hi Anthony,

Well done workflow. Nice models. Keep posted! You’re on the way:buttrock:

#95

Yup …i agree …your modeling work flow is very good …i lke your character too…he has …err…character!..Why i haven’t subscribe on this yet?..argh…sorry about that …it won’t happen again…

I am very interested to see how u will evolve that creature…:bounce:

#96

Rockin’ looking good KidMesh. Can’t wait to see the creature.

#97

Those gloves look like they belong to a thief. Posting the wire of the hands is helping me with my hands a bit. Just a suggestion: maybe you could scale the vertices closer together that are on the palm-sdie of the hands on the fingers to give it a rounder shape:shrug: . Can’t wait to see what else you do.

#98

Well for the last few days I’ve been modeling mainly the upper body stuff so I wanted to see how it all was coming together. I cant get a real fix on the poportions until I actually model the bottom half because i want to scale the torso etc etc.
Oh well, sorry I could provide a decent screen shot due to the fact he is in the ā€œsobriety test poseā€. Tommorow I will start modeling pants, boots and other little extras.

#99

ace4016 - If you need some better wire shots let me know and I can email you some. Im stil tweaking the hand though, but I do see what you are saying about rounding it off where suggested…thanks. At the same time Im just thinking ahead so when I rig this guy I dont run into an issue with bone influence.

Great modelling so far (especially the jacket and gloves).
The goatie still looks very weird to me (like a glob of plastic on his face), but maybe it’ll turn out better when its textured.
