Master and Servant 3D Entry: Anthony Ray Hollis

#61

good start, but still too early

And i’d say dont get too caught up in parts that wont be seen, what matters most is the final image, which is one of the reasons i was thinking not to do the ears on my character, you know?

anyways, keep it going man!!

#62

Ok, here is the lastest version…I want to add so much definition since I have the base but since the vest will cover most of it…maybe not.
I did some quick test modeling of a vest based on the concept art and it kinda looked cool…but then again it kinda didnt lol thus no screenie. Tommorow for sure an update with the vest and later on arms, hands, etc.

Cheers All.

#63

The modeling looks quiet fine to me Antony, and the updated concept (blue stylesheet) gives a great glance on your plan. can’t help id, somehow reminds me some samurai.
Kewl stuff yet, keep it up!:wip: :buttrock:

Nice man. I think though, in my opinion the abdomen (sp?) looks too pulled in… sort of like hes sucking in his ā€œgutā€ :stuck_out_tongue: I would pull it back out just a bit…

But I like the over all shape you have going on.

although… looking at your concept… sort of fits… hmm

one other thing I see, though this just might be because of the perspective view, is that the torso from the side looks too thin?

Anyways, keep pushing those polys man, because i demand perfection!

great job!

#65

Well I started watching college hoops because I was shutting down for the night and was just toying around with the vest idea, and in between commericals one poly got pushed then another and then I lost track of the game  … Anyway here is the vest which still needs a few tweaks but overall Im happy with the start based on the concept art.
Tommorow I will work on defining the areas of the torso that are exposed and then start on the arms and hands.

#66

Looking good so far! You are flying along, with several others on this challenge…I just started modeling tonight

The vest is looking pretty nice, nothing to crit there!
Keep it up!

#67

The modeling i coming alnog nicely, only thing is the the bottom of the sleeve is a bit too flat, makes it look triangular. keep it up.

#68

good concept…best of luck

#69

Wintermute - Yeah Im trying to get modeling out of the way because texturing is where I need work. So Im trying buy some much needed time. But good luck to your modeling start, hope its a fast one.

ace4016 - I see what you mean, it’s still a W.I.P, there needs to be more definition in certain areas as well. I plan on addressing it and thanks for the c&c its always welcomed.

manikantkujur -
Thanks, the quick sketch is hillarious because its just so bad on so many levels, the porportions are just horrible :scream:. Honestly I wasnt even thinking about it while drawing it, I just wanted to get a visual down so I could start modeling.

alex.h. - Thanks man, and you will ( I guarantee it )

#72

Nice style there Antony  It’s good that some people are going into a slight toon atmosphere…the concept looks very promising…can’t wait to see the servents model

#73

Great start Anthony  Good luck dude

#74

Here is another quick update, just starting the base for the arms and getting ready to do the hands shortly their after. Currently the arms are a tad long but I will make the neccessary adjustments once I finish tweaking

#75

Very clean and model. Well done so far nothing to crit.
Keep it up:thumbsup:

#76

3dRaven - Thanks, Proton was one of the main reasons I wanted to get into character modeling because he it made it look so easy to do in lightwave. His ā€œHell Boyā€ model actually helped out my thought process when I was planning on how to model this vest.
Back when they offered up free CGTALK models packs a long while ago I studied his meshes along with others and learned alot. But yeah, Im more inclined to do stylized or cartoon style characters versus realistic.

blackdragoncg - Thank you sir and good luck on your entry too!

ninox - So far so good then, thanks!
