I think perhaps you could benefit from placing atleast one of the skeletons in the front even closer to the camera, and darken them, so they would frame the image better and draw more focus to the main person?

eupee- ya. i’m gonna play with some jewelry. i thought initially about small animal bones or bright gold. he does have 2 lip piercings, but some anklets/armlets/rings might be a nice addition. headgear could still be a possibility. a large cow skull or something. maybe once i get to that finer detail stage. thanks for the suggestions though.

I like the concept and characters, but their poses are little, I don’t know-- they look somehow static even thou they are not. It’s hard to explain, but it looks good

Hey! great progress! however, I think your image overall looks kinda to dark. Try to put in some brighter values in the background perhaps? Also I would try to minimize the use of black in your coloring. Keep it up!
thanks a lot noob and am7. your comments are appreciated. one problem im having is the transfer from painter on my laptop to photoshop on my pc. there are major color shifts. so i try to balance them. with levels and saturation levels. i dunno. but thankyou for the tips/advice. im gonna do some more work soon. thankyou much.

This is coming along nicely. I would push the light side of the characters a bit farther to create more drama. I don’t agree that the BG has to go lighter or saturated more, that would bring it forward. I would de-saturate it a bit and allow some of the foreground darks to fall into it., creating a nice chiaroscuro affect. But push the light side of the characters. This is coming along great.
i like this piece. i think the coloring is looking cool but i hate to see it lose some of the strengths that show up in the linework. the main necromancer guy looks rad in the sketch but maybe could use more color in the highlights. The value distinction is good but you might want to save the white for only the brightest highlights. The backlight on the ribs is bitchen and the wraps on the arms are cool.

eterna2 - yes. there is a lot of work to do on this guy. much more lighting. a real light source. and more placement of the light source with highlight/shadows.
cliff - thanks for the feedback man. i will play around with the background for sure. and i like the intense light idea. tenebrism to add a great mood.
bayoubilly - great feedback. i do plan on actual flesh tones. i was jus trying to create a sense of his exterior against the background. and the levels are off. but very much agreed. thanks for the comments too.
a little more work on the lighting. need much more work. especially on his face. still have to detail and light the skeletons… soon…background is gonna probably get much darker too. trying to find a nice balance…all crits appreciated.
Good progress man! Keep it going! I would not darken the background that much, as the silhouette of your neuromancer would read pretty badly, infact I would suggest to bring some fog in perhaps behind him? So one can make out the shape of his back aswell? Another solution could be to place a secondary lightsource (like from a torch burning) on the right. So you would get some nice warm hue’s in there aswell as the reflection on his body, makes it read well.
Nice… I like what I am seeing thus far! My only crit would be this, mind you it’s picky and its more of a narrative crit than an art crit, I owuld like to see some of the skeliton’s barried more, and some almost all the way out. Make the resurrecting skeleton at different steps, right now they all seem to be at the same stage in the riseing up.
But other than that its looking good my friend.
