Here is my concept sketch for my 2d entry. My story behind it is that the figure is a servant/slave to his own mind. Whether he is a schizophrenic or has obsessive compulsive disorder (I want the viewer to derive their own explanation), he has to follow and live with what his own mind tells him.

I forgot to add the reasons behind several symbolic things and stuff in the drawing. There’s not much to my concept sketch (actually this isn’t my final concept sketch, still working it out), but I will be adding more. I actually wanted to ask what other members thought I should do.
The number four, which I decided to use as the title of my piece, is a definitive way of permanent obsession of following specific procedures like an obsessive would. Has to do everything a certain number of times. The small pictures of rain falling on him symbolize the downfall and sadness he is feeling, I’m thinking of adding a cloud drawing on the ceiling. And of course all the writing on the wall is him responding and decrypting his own hallucinations and orders from within himself. He as I have drawn him in black and white sort of explains his perception of the world…like a one-dimensional thing with the grayscale or something like that.
I don’t like how the sketch came out but I just wanted to see if I could get the perspective right…I have trouble drawing fisheye type projections sometimes. The figure will be more detailed…you’ll see the expression on his face…like he is going mad, screaming inside and gripping his hair really hard. I am thinking about adding a door to the left, and a power outlet somewhere on the wall. Also I am going to add in some sort of drawing pencil or something in his gripped hands.
i had a similar problem within my work which i worked out… the figure just seems cut out from everything else… i like the idea… but it seems rather small and bland the whole concept is confined and is very limited by this room you placed the figure in… there are no iconic elements about anything in the character and it doesn’t really convey the theme of master slave… as well as it could or should be. it would be wise to have more then just one light source it would help you introduce cold and hot colors into the scene as well as get some nice variation in the shadows… everything else i think is up to you… don’t expect anyone to just give ideas its a hard lesson i learned… or i guess i was just unlucky in that regard.
