i just had a little time today, to paint the shadings…
i´m not sure about the linework-milestone, because i usually do no linework, since i work traditionally with physical airbrush too, and there i always work out the shadings after the sketch is transferred to the board…
it was alot of fun making the details so far, i hope i´ll have time to make the stones and background tomorrow…
we´ll see
here´s some progress:

or take a look here to see the other 3 steps before this:
the shading process is nearly done, today i´ve got a little bit time, to make the background shading.
the whole progress till now is all done in photoshop 7. from scanning the sketch till the pre-coloring, the whole thing will be interpolated to 3000X4000 pixels and comes then into painter and will be worked over with acrylics and brushes…
after the whole paint-process is done, the final image will be adjusted again in photoshop with slightly postwork and colortone-correction…
i hope the shaded image will be accepted for a “lineart” image…
this is the pre-coloring stage, where i have tried to get an account of the mood…
and also i may add some details also, a little dagger, from the girl in the lower right, and the Wyvern should get something he is fighting for also…
hmmm, maybe some eggs…
any suggestions?
i think that would add a naturally touch to the creature as well.

Very good colors and lighting I like it. But I think it doesn’t fit the subject. Who is the master ??
Anyway a good piece of art.
thanks for the comment,
indeed, the declaration of the master and servant is not as easy to observe, than the most images submitted for the challenge…
in fact i was really often thinking about which composition and subjects to choose for my entry, but i wanted something which has a deeper meaning…
because some others may have the same thoughts about it, here a short statement:
first off; the composition is equal to the number 8, an infinity-symbol, which depicts the universal balance in mankinds behaviour.
the master is always the one on top, in this case the man who protect his family from the wyvern.but the situation can change if the wyvern would get the upper position,he is also fighting for his family…
the quintessence of this story is that, no matter if you are master or servant, its up on you wether you accept your situation in life or to go for something, to change life for getting a better position.
.
thats my humble thinking about it.
good work, i like the lighting.i like the woman at the top, tho her baby thats slipping has a very long back. i like the creature too, the extra set is a good addition. gl with it ![]()
