Master and Servant 2D Entry: Linda Bergkvist

I’d like to come up with something that would help you on your picture but I don’t think you’re having any problems
excellent work, there should be no reason why this won’t win big…

#922

I am so happy you’re back linda. and … i just fell in love with the mouse!!! its is ubersweet! keep it up linda, and thanks again for your watch over in my painting wip. going to rework it carefully. keep it up!

#923

I think it’s good, and tasteful, no gore beyond the necessary.

The only thing that would be a problem is that it’s head might seem a bit tilted up from the ground. You probably knew that too though, lol.

It’s good allright!

PS:Love the mouse too, good thing you aint maiming it, I had a nightmare about that once which was a little gory, looked a lot like this mouse. shivers

Eee! what a cute mouse!
The update on the dead bird looks really well made.

#925

remember that parts of the picture are still very much in a sketch state.
Eeeeep.

I don’t really feel that I have to say anything more then that, but I do think you would have won this contest with this sketch.

And as a very sensitive person with a vegitarian friend, I have to say that you did a great effort with the bird.

Stå på med ditt mesterverk

#926

Nice update on the dead bird. You did just enough i think. Not having it dirtier or anything since well, i think it’s death is pretty recent if we consider how the birds that are still flying looks like after approaching the human girl.

I’d say to keep it this way Linda, in my opinion.

#927

The mouse is really cute. Where is it in the full image?

BTW thanks for answering my question in the Q&A. It cleared up a few things.

#928

The bird looks amazing, to bad you don’t want it more dead, you could of add up a few bugs on it

Great work

Your bigest fan

#929

Nice to see you back on this
I’ll prefer your earlier dead bird with the eyes still there… this one seems to have died quite some time. Cause I think if the idea is to let the bird die bcos it got close to the human, perhaps showing it with eyes will hold better as it implies the bird just died not too long ago. Just my thoughts on it… really nice work on the dead bird though, as if I could instantly feel the stiff body of it. I really love your painting in the way u add/remove life in it .

P.S. can’t wait to get hold on your art book, looking very much to it :scream:

Sketch state?
That is not in a sketch state. Its a masterpiece.
Bravo:applause:

Linda - The head and the legs really add a lot to the feeling of decrepitude. Overall, though, pretty much I’m in agreement with nikudy. The head definitely looks more dead now, but the body doesn’t quite match it: It still appears composed and healthily rotund. More feathers missing, more withered-away, or more - dare I say it? - blood could all help. Good luck with it!

U are the actual Da Vinci :). waht a technique !!

Bravissimmmmmmmmmoooooo

#933

perfect details`again!

#934

Maybe I’m imagining it, cause I’m scarcely an authority on the subject, but the way you painted Nature’s right leg reminds me a little of Rembrandt. It has a sort of shapely softness…

Well anyway, I love your work and I think this is becoming one of your best paintings yet.

#935

Exceptional work as always. I’m glad you stuck with your first concept even though your other one turned out awesome as well.

#936

Hey !! I like this mouse, she 's really cute.

#937

This is fantastic work. I like the blurring effects and make the graphic look real, and bring them to live. Good work man, I love it!!!

#938

I have been watching your artwork since we were all part the ‘night crew’ at WBS, your work has done nothing but improve and continues to get better. I think you have a winning concept on your hands

#939

Great details…!!

Very “the best”…

Linda,

Wow, I’ve finally finished reading through all 63 pages of posts, woot!!! All I can say is you are amazingly talented (but you knew that already ;)). The amount of intricate detail in this piece is incredible, and I’m sure you’ll be adding even more as the challenge deadline approaches; I can’t wait to see your next update.

I love your style, and don’t think you should change it at all (as some here have suggested). Each new piece seems to evoke a different mood or emotion–keep up the good work.

I agree somewhat about Nature’s right foot; it should probably be a little bit smaller. Also, the foot seems to fan out too much as it nears the toes…it might need to be slightly more narrow, I’m not sure. I know you’re probably not finished with Nature’s hands, but her left hand looks slightly off as it begins to wrap around Humanity’s back.

Another thing I noticed is the lines on Nature’s arms and legs, and also to the left of Humanity. Are those intended? If so, I think there should be less of them (just my opinion though, feel free to disregard :)) There’s one right across her chest which seems kind of distracting to me.

I really do love this image though, and would definitely buy a print if you offered them on your website (*hint, hint*).

I think you have won this challenge Linda.

Have fun with your prizes!
