Master and Servant 2D Entry: Linda Bergkvist

Amazing update. As much as I look forward to seeing your progress, at the same time I’m equally interested to see what other concept you’ll come up with.

I remember reading you wanted this finished piece to be something that a person could look for for a long period of time and continually find new things hidden in the image. Considering you’re already starting to do that, it looks like you’re on track.

I love how the depiction of humanity is turning out. I can’t wait to see how you do her feet.

now the lates update made me join the army of admirers hehe. i really like this piece. excellent choice of colours. they are so eye-friendly.
det ser ut som vi redan har en vinnare. lycka till!, halsningar fran Polen!

Wow, Linda, this is coming along beautifully. The details are really popping out and adding so much to the picture. One crit may be that the decaying birds and butterflies and the like, are in too much of a straight line. I think they should probably be more randomly placed. You know what I mean?

The patterns in the dresses are so beautiful and everything is just gorgeous. I can’t wait to see more, but first, I can’t wait to see your concept for your other picture. I know that one is going to be just as good as this, especially since the theme/subject is much more your style. I hope you do get a chance to work on it today!

woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww
wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww…a guess that says it all …good luck(not that you need it)

#605

Kanskje du borde gjöra mer kontrast i bakgrunden.

#606

I’m a bit confused really? I understand everyone loves playing with more ideas and concepts but you more than likely have a winning piece here! Why not continue adding the details finish it off and wait for the results? You can always work on a new personal piece?? Anyway, amazing work and I hope I can see it finished! If you do start a new concept i’ll look forward to watching your progress! Good luck!

#607

Huh? Wha? Is this for real… that’s a crazy amount of detail! Where ever do you find the time? Amazing stuff (oh, I mean AMAAAAZZZZING)

I have to say that these little details really give the piece a deeper character about it… the more you look, the more there is to be found! I love it!!! :bounce:

Keep inspiring us all, Linda (sigh)… now I’ll go back to painting my rag (sobbing like a little girl in shame, lol)

Cheers!

This is absolutely entrancing! Amazing work…i like everything about it and it’s very inspiring.
.
…and you really should consider that whole apply for a job thing…they would be stupid not to hire you.

It looks amazing, Linda. I like how Humanity even wounds Nature where her hand grazed her leg. Very nice

My only critique is that the dying birds and butterflies are very mechanically spaced. They’re all kind of in a line and evenly spaced apart… and they’re all the same size. It might just be me, but I’d like to see them have a little more variety in placement and size. This is a very picky critique though since this is obviously an outstanding image even unfinished!

Linda, this piece is looking absolutely fantastic-- it’s been quite a thrill to watch the progression so far! I’ve become familiar with your work over the past few months and it’s great to see you taking the competition plunge.

However, I’m thinking maybe the more subdued, grayed colors you had around Nature’s head before were more effective. Don’t get me wrong, one of the things I love most about your work is your sense of color, but it almost seems like there could be too much competition among the stronger background colors and the bird and Nature colors. If there were just a slight difference in chroma between the background and the birds, etc., there would be less competition and more emphasis. This is really the only crit I have of the piece, though. It really is stunning and I wish you only the best in this competition. I’m rooting for you all the way.

Random Sidenote: The little bug on nature’s dress actually does have a different name than a dragonfly. It’s a damsel fly; you can tell the difference because of the smaller wings and slimmer body.

Aaaanway. I’m loving how much detail you’re putting into this piece. Fantastic. But I have to agree with the comment on the birds and butterflies’ placement being too planned out at the moment. Mankind’s side particulary bothers me the way all of them are in a vertical line and most are the same size. I assume you’re planning to draw more though? I’d really like to see them more erractically spaced with varying sizes. It’d add drama and all that stuff. ;]

#612

Can I just say that you have become my idol.

#613

“Where are you going psychoboy?”

My mother once told me -after I showed her the movie (look what a bad guy I am:twisted: )- that it is a sin to make movies like this because there are psychos running around in the world who understand it the wrong way. I didn´t believe her, because I thaught that these people wouldn´t understand it at all. Hell, she was right and I was wrong and you are the living exemple. Hehe, just kidding.

Just try not to go crazy please! This is hm… AWESOME:buttrock: :buttrock: :buttrock:

peace, pete

#614

very nice! I was wondering if you can show us a bit on how you paint grass? I’ve always had trouble with that. What are the steps you think about?

#615

Hallo Linda!

Your work is fantastic. More than fantastic!
I have three questions:

  1. Where do you work ?
  2. How old are you ?
  3. How long do you work with 2D artist programs ?

As usualy really good stuff! the only thing that bothers my eye is the amount of saturation you have going on around the masked woman’s face. It just seems abit too much to me, but I know your not done yet so I wont really say anything about it, I know your final pieces are always good.

By the way , on your eye tutorial, You should make a side view one too ! LOL, It was really helpful for me!

#617

You are in a league of you own-- no doubt about it!

WOW…

#618

( wow ) …just, wow. Loving the colors!
