Working some more on some of the charactersā€¦ Havenā€™t had time to do much and itā€™s kind of frustrating to show it off at this stage. Oh, well.

Wow! I love your style. Reminds me of Peter Bagge.

One crit, though. The relationship between Master and Servant is supposed to be the focus, but it looks more like the little girl is shooing off an annoying insect rather than instructing her monster. Given your concept (a good one, BTW) Iā€™d think sheā€™d be holding an exam with a big ā€œFā€ on it and trying to negotiate a better grade with the teacher. If he doesnā€™t, heā€™s monster food.

Just a thought. :shrug:

Thanks guys, for your nice comments. Youā€™re right, itā€™s a bit dark right now, but thatā€™s mostly because I work from dark to light. I promise it will get a lot lighter by the end.

Ilikesoup-- thatā€™s a great idea, Iā€™ll try to incorporate it in some way. The thoughā€™s been to have her nonchalantly waving to the monster to eat the teacher, but I think your idea is better. Iā€™ve had trouble getting it to work so far. Thanks!

Hopefully, Iā€™ll have a lighter and clearer update sometime soon!

Cool piece. Nice style and very humorous. Sort of a cartoon youā€™ll see in Nick channel. It kinda looks like youā€™re an animator. Dig the facial expressions too. Keep it coming dude.

The process is slowā€¦ Continuing to work from light to dark. Hereā€™s a detail of one of the characters. Right now, the full image is pretty messy, but I hope to post it soon.

Naomi-- Thanks for stopping by! Yes, youā€™re right, she is pretty mean, isnā€™t sheā€¦ Iā€™ve actually illustrated a few childrenā€™s books, so Iā€™m glad you think the style would work for that!

Sometimes I hate Painter with a passion! This is what my painting looked like whe I got up this morning.

My psd file is completely corrupted! Fortunately, I use iterative save so I have other versions of it, but itā€™s set me back a couple of days at least. Guess I should have saved new versions more oftenā€¦

I pretty much just want to give up at this point.

Gutted mate! :frowning: I didnā€™t realise painter was slightly unstable! Glad iā€™m sticking with photoshop! Anyway good luck! Chin up! Look forward to more! Best thing you can do is start working on a new character in the piece so that it is fresh!
