Latest Update: Line Art: Retribution of Servitude

Okay so this is about half way through my line art stage. But I wanted to update here so that you could see my progress on the buildings. They aren’t exact yet on the perspectives but that’ll be easy enough when I paint over em. I’m not so much a lineart person sorry to say.

The people that’ll be tossed in will probably be more of a painterly lineart, in the sense that I’ll go by flat colors or something. But you’ll see that in a few days.

So this was my first idea. I may or may not go with it depending on opinions I get. Personally I’m quite fond of it at the moment.

Story is pretty much as follows: After years of having lands encroached upon by people, along with the well known fact that people certainly are not helping the global warming process - the penguins are taking over. It’s their turn to rule. Or something like that

Ha ha! Nice to see a humorous response. Also nice to see anything with penguins in it. What software are you going to use?

It’s looking like Painter 8 so far, I’ve been on a roll with that lately. Glad you like it, I’ve just gotten a bit tired of the overly serious stuff. Feeling humorous lately I guess.

Hey guys, not to bump this but I’m curious on something. I don’t think I’ve quite got the servant quality of this down quite right, any suggestions on how I might enhance it? It’s very “master dominant” I guess you could say.

Time to start doodling again I thinks

I like to think of it as the servants rebelling against the masters! If you gave the people running in fear little eskimo outfits, it would totally make sense. And good luck in the competition! I’m glad you joined man! So much fun.

Yrindale! Awesome to see you here (albeit a little weird, the way it is when you get to know someone at some place, and then suddenly run into them somewhere else entirely).

This is looking reallllly nice :] Wish I could paint buildings in perspective, sigh! I’m definitely keeping an eye on it!

#9

Honest to god I’m not stalking you

This is actually the first time I’ve done buildings at such a strong focus, my preference is deep fantasy with knights and mages and crap… but hey, challenges are meant to challenge us (as per the word ^_^) - figured I should try something very new for me.

I dunno, I hate the line work so far, I wanna paint this sucker already! lol

Ah ah ah !

Nice idea:thumbsup: Will you add some frozing beams towards the running people ?

#11

I’m reluctant to do so on the beams, but it is a funny idea. I mostly wanna keep it just an enlarged penguin instead of say Pengzilla, as people see penguins as cute lil creatures that make funny noises. But a pengzilla runs the risk of being too separated from people I think.

However I will certainly keep that in mind if I end up needing a gag or something to rely on lol

Anyway, I hope to have an update tomorrow evening, should be my full lineart

Hopefully by then I’ll have a more defined idea on what I’m doing with the giant Penguin.

Wake up !!
There are giant penguins waiting at your door !
