This is a rough line sketch. Sorta half concept, half line drawing atm. Sorry for not posting much, i’ve been working more ont he 3d entry. When the proper line drawing is finished i guess things will flow faster. Coments are welcomed.
hi, this is my second challenge, and the first time doing the 2d challenge. this is gonna be my first time painting something from scratch on the computer so it should be fun, although i paint in oil in real life though. I hope i can fit time in for the 2d piece since i’m doing the 3d aswell :). anyway i guess painting is always a good when i wanna break from 3d.
At the moment i don’t have a soild idea for this piece yet, but i think i wanna do something that has the master and the servant as the same person or humanoid thing. Or something where the master or servent is non-existent, sort of like an imaginary thing or spirit. So to picture the master vs. servent relationship i guess i will need to show that within some play of space: e.g. a reflection or light and shadow or something to frame the 2 charaters in the same image.
I’m not really sure if this is too strange but it’s worth a try i guess.
please gimme some feed back. and good luck to everyone, look forward to seeing some cool work.

The image depicts a little boy who has survived an attack my marrauding bandits in a past Asian village. The boy the bore witness to all the violent killings, destruction and rape. He was left helpless in front of his burning home, surrounded by the bodies of his family . After the event the boy begins to feel the hate grow within him as his anger and frustration at his inability to do anything to save any of those he loved. Due to the extreme cercumstances the child finds himself in, another persona begins to emerge to handle it, one built on the foundations of hate within the childls heart, one that will guide the boy on his path of revenge.
The image I’ll be painting is of the little boy crying helplessly in front of a burning house and a bit of blood around the place (but not to gruesome though). Just in front of the boy will be a water puddle, which reflects the boy’s anger. The boy will be depicted in a colder color scheme, while the reflection will be hotter (as it would be from the blood and fire background which fits in with the anger and rage of the boy’s complex emotions).
The servant is the boy and the master will be the boy’s anger and hate reflected in the puddle.
With both my 2d and the 3d entry, I’ve tried to explore the idea of a tragic story which forces childrens emotions to tranform rapidly.
This is a concept sketch again but in a little more detail, but still it’s pretty rough (sorry). The next one should look better. But this should give a better idea than the last… comments are welcome, thanks.

Interesting. Is it kind of like the servant doesn’t really want to be doing the bad things (are those dead bodies scattered around?), but the shadow is the real master and makes him do it?
