Just the thought. I am gonna use the soldier and country theme. Uncle Sam and one of our finest. Greetings and best of luck to everyone.

Did a detailed head. I will be piecing this together as such until I am completely satisfied with the outcome. Then painting will begin. C and C all the way.

Just pieced together another part. Added in the soldier’s face and Uncle Sam’s hand. Gonna sketch out the soldier’s hands next.

#5

As predicted…added a hand. Geesh, getting those things right is tough. Onward ho!

My first impression of your work was expectation-less, the draw looks anatomically rigth but “flat”.
After read your concept i think it’s a great idea, is too soon for say this but i think about your characters doesn’t seems to much of what you want to express, i explain myself better, uncle sam i don’t cath him before read your explanation, and the soldier look the son of the old man, i can determinate what kind of soldier is him, an actually american soldier in Irak or a WWII soldier? but what i’m say before is too soon for say this, but take it as a little suggestion.

Nice concept. I like the simplicity of the way you express it - not too overdone or over complicated. I think the emotion of the two characters works really well. Look forward to seeing more!

Hi Kamrhon,
I would suggest that the soldier has his left arm wrap around uncle sams both leg rather then going inbetween his leg and wrap his arm on sam’s left leg. Having hugging both leg would look more natural.
The proportion of their anatomy seems to be slightly off. THe soldiers arm are longer then his leg and uncle sam’s legs are alittle too short. Just a suggestion, try having someone to pose for you, from there just sketch out the pose and add you detail on top of that.
But I think your concept and story behind it is very interesting! Looking forward to see how this turn out ya .

Thanks for the crits, yall. I have taken off kinda slow. I plan to add more detail and reveal some of the answers to the questions that you have, boset. Hope you all keep up with me. I look forward to completing it. If it turns out the way that it is in my head, it will be a simple display of humble servance and caring dominance.
