nice head sketches, love to see next progress, keep it up

GoodLux!

#22

Hi there…thanks for dropping by. The ultimate angel?..well, as no angels has been created by my hand ever, I could sure need some inspiration. Subscribing…

Btw, that concept of the inquisitor looks pretty damn cool. Wether or not it´s fitable for this, I don´t know, but you sure are a heck of a drawer.

Good luck in here

#23

I like your style of drawing particulary the face of inquisitor. I wait the suite of the concept, good work:thumbsup:

#24

Wow, this concept sketches are so cool, for now I’ll just lay back and enjoy the show!

#25

Good to see you back! You left us wanting for more last time :bounce:. The skectches look good, I’ll have to wait for new updates to come up with comments, cause much of what i think has already been said. Good luck!

#26

good style man^^

#27

thanks for yo’ comments

Falcor_ : I’v just recently discovered the true beaty of planning…saves you a lot of work in a long run

Kragh: Thanks  I’v never drawn an angel before either =) but how hard can it be…just draw a beautiful “humanoid” and put couple of dove wings on his back  Well I’v realized it isn’t that easy actually. It’s all about the mood of an angel. Sad but noble, Strong but fragile…uh…lot’s of adjectives to represent…damn

MDN67: Concept is coming…hardest part is to draw the whole picture that’s inside my head =]

GaeasHerald: Glad to see you too  GSO was a blast! shame that I missed the deadline by miles, I’ll do better this time x)

ogar555: hehe

Squibbit: I try my best :stuck_out_tongue:

ninox & eclipson & coCoKNIght & neozoom & noob!: thanks

#28

hey Arto…cool artistry there! …like the concept…hmm when u reveal the twist it cirtainly will be a blast… !..show us some more :scream: !

#29

Just started the line drawing with the characters after few days of sketching on paper (I might scan those later and post them here). Hopefully the final linedrawing is ready sometime next week so I can begin my favourite task…the rendering of light! \o/ =)

And now the twist is there for you to see  I know it’s a bit too cliche (the church used faith for their own purposes in 1400th century and maybe they do still) And the inquisitor theme is also somewhat “ditched”.

#30

I find ur style crazy ! :bounce:

its hand drawing or it done in painter??

continu like that dude :applause:

#31

This is looking brilliant… good job…the inquisiitor ditched makes it a more real life scenario…as far as it can be…

one suggestion…would it be better to to have the preist not facing the veiwer…makes it look like they are posing for the camera… maybe…or if the pose remains the same… create a pulpit…and in the blurry forefront…the masses listening to him preach…?
love,
Vinesh

#32

Well, the inquisitor idea was really good, but i must admit… i like this one better!
I don’t think i would’ve come up with this, but if I did, it would be the opposite to what you’ve done (the angel being the master)… i think my mind is a bit locked or limited…
I like the inking you’ve done sofar, and, any plans on the bg yet?

#33

its good to see your thought process here:D i am enjoying this:D gluck!

#34

dominikmk: Thanks  It’s made in photoshop but I will take it to painter when I start coloring it (painter is superior in it).

omengeorge. Yeah I know the problem with that priest facing the camera…I’ll see what I can do about it  The main idea behind this is as follows:

“the Year is 1487, Corruption rules the catholic church and Cardinals use religion as a tool to make them more wealthy and more powerful.”

main idea is to represent this era and bring fantazy elements to boost the effect. The church is now a “freakshow” with angels and other holy creatures on display to be used as a tool to rule nations. In this picture a cardinal is dragging an arcangel inside the church and the angel is strugling agains but at the same time crying (Angels like to cry when humans act this cruel way

I hope you got the idea 'cause I find it hard to find the right words in english

ogar555: Thanks  I thought about putting the angel as master in my first drafts but it didn’t work…somehow I like it this way…this represent the humans true nature more clearly) And bg is coming after I get those poses ready…its already scethed out with those character in it but its such a mess that I will not post it here

T-lapia: thanks :] I like to think things thru even if (at this time of year) my brain capacity is running low  I need a vacation!!

someone from some warm place: please take a burnout concept artist to live in your house for 2 weeks (I’ll pay the drinks)
If your interested /msg ElFuego

Really nice work Arto. I love the head study. You may want to crop into this latest image: I don’t think you need to show all of the wing on the right side. Consider rotating the inquisitor’s face slightly to the right to break-up the stong vertical. That’s a nit-pick. This is some good stuff starting here. Good Luck

#36

Sideache: thanks  about the cropping image thing the enviroment that I add later will balance the composition so it doesn’t need cropping. those are just the characters without bg

#37

New pose study. A new concept too. The angel is more “war angel” but he is still unwillingly in to this. The priest is also a bit different

#38

Ok, another one…this is the final composition. Well maybe I make it a landscape but anyway  This is comp/color study but I make a official color WIP later. After I get everything in place.

The crusade theme is also somewhat different from the past inquisition theme cause this one works the best as an whole image. But throw in some improvement succestions and I see what I can do.

You can’t see it clearly from this image but the angel is chained to serve the powerseekers and therefore there is somekind of “subidea” of using religion as an excuse to conquer and rule.

#39

Fantastic coloring and perspective on this. I dont have much more to add, so I’ll just keep watch on it.
one thing though. The shadows dont look appropriate for where the light source is, you might try rotating them upwards just a little.

#40

Hey… Looks good in the thumbnail
Good luck everything is set for good picture.

If id be a master id never pull somebody behind me in chains and give him a spear, but that is his choice.

Just remember it is sometimes harder to add stuff you didnt plan in the concept right on. So be sure youre concept is strong as possible before going on, but there is 1 month time left. Hope it is enough for you
