Sideache: thanks  about the cropping image thing the enviroment that I add later will balance the composition so it doesn’t need cropping. those are just the characters without bg

New pose study. A new concept too. The angel is more “war angel” but he is still unwillingly in to this. The priest is also a bit different

#38

Ok, another one…this is the final composition. Well maybe I make it a landscape but anyway  This is comp/color study but I make a official color WIP later. After I get everything in place.

The crusade theme is also somewhat different from the past inquisition theme cause this one works the best as an whole image. But throw in some improvement succestions and I see what I can do.

You can’t see it clearly from this image but the angel is chained to serve the powerseekers and therefore there is somekind of “subidea” of using religion as an excuse to conquer and rule.

Fantastic coloring and perspective on this. I dont have much more to add, so I’ll just keep watch on it.
one thing though. The shadows dont look appropriate for where the light source is, you might try rotating them upwards just a little.

Hey… Looks good in the thumbnail
Good luck everything is set for good picture.

If id be a master id never pull somebody behind me in chains and give him a spear, but that is his choice.

Just remember it is sometimes harder to add stuff you didnt plan in the concept right on. So be sure youre concept is strong as possible before going on, but there is 1 month time left. Hope it is enough for you

#41

I like the most recent composition. It has a nice perspective to it.

#42

hi Arto!..the latest one is my choice…it has the emotion and very dynamically in motion!..hey this will be really fantastic!

Hi ElFuego,

I just wanted to say that your latest update looks absolutely great to me! I really like what you have accomplished there. That mask on masters face gives really sci-fi look to the picture…well I am not sure sci-fi is really a good word to that impression it gives to me, but anyways…it’s not from this world…at least not right now…hmm I’d better stop finding right words here

Anyway, you really give me inspiration and maybe I’ll take part to this challenge or the next one?!

Good luck with your painting!

Hiya again Arto,

Wow the latest image compaired to the image before is a vast improvment and so dramatic, potentual masterpiece :applause:

#45

Excellent! I love the composition. It will be a lot of fun to see how you paint the light comming through the angels wings. Can’t wait!

#46

What if…what if …what if he was holding a glowing cross and then the angel had a glowing cross around his neck signifying the control aspect of the Master/Servent !!

Anyways nice work cant wait to see the end results !!

#47

hi!

i am absolutely loving this comp

keep going!

#48

Another comp. And another way to aproach the theme. Kinda like this one but I think I’ll do the one before this…the crusade theme

#49

WAHAHAH! Man oh man… i’m really happy i’m not you! haha… 'cause i would never been able to decide which of the concepts you’ve done to use in the final composition… They’re all good… hell… i would have a mental breakdown trying to decide… so, can’t really say i think one is greatly superior to another!
but, dang… once again i wish i had your sketching skills…!
aah, well… keep it up!
ei saa peittaa… ( the little finnish i know, written on the radiators around the house! )

I think the previous one is better, cause you can see the humiliation of the servant and therefore it has more strength. I personally would change the pose, have him crawling to accentuate this. Keep it up

#51

I vote for the “Crusader” concept, mostly because it’s the most powerful and dynamic composition you’ve concocted so far. However, it also occurred to me that if you actually backlit them at the angle you currently have the sun in, then both of their faces will be shadowed in a great theme-emphasizing way.

#52

Uh thanks for your comments

but…

… I feel like I have to focus more to the characters than in the crusade pic :frowning: I’m really torn apart to make the decision. So I’v came up with a concept that cant fail! I make both and then decide  I hope I have enough time. Oh and the Angel in this latest pic reminds the pries “who is the true master” (so tables have turned) I make it a bit comedic also and iconic so it just presents these two chareacters and nothing else.

Damn this challenge

#53

Ok…final lineart picture…I spent 9 hours today doing it and here it is…hope you like it

It’s now more character based picture and I feel like it is more true to the instructions given. For better or for worse I’v ditched the crusade theme (sorry boys :frowning:

#54

I really like the latest version of your lineart, look forward to seeing it colored!

I also like his new hairstyle, looking good.
