Another Update. I have adjusted the colours in the image a bit so that the Tenticles look more juicey and the Outfit is not just black and white. Also worked on a few more areas.

Right, sat down and got me thinking cap on.
There are so many ways I can go with this and my mind has been racing with ideas all day long. I had a look at the insperational images which seem to portray a lot of fairly iconic, yet sterotypical images.
The first thing that springs to mind is the idea of an attractive woman with a big cat of some sort (Usually a tiger, Saber Teeth and extra legs - a’la Princess of mars - optional). And I expect someone here to do some version of this. (Looking at you Aly!)
So anyway, I got thinking obout this and began to form some ideas.
As fate would have it, one idea comes from a character of mine I invented Ages ago that has a Saber Tooth Cat as a companion of hers. :shrug: Meh!
But as I said, kinda cliche so I moved on.
One thing I kept comming back to was a Sci-Fi theme. I missed the Space Opera Challenge you see, and after I joined CGTalk I wished I had joined earlier so I could have joined in with that Challenge.
You see, I love Sci-Fi and I dont get to do it often in my Art, so this might be a Perfect oppertunity to do something.
Now, this is spare time stuff, so it has to be something im going to enjoy, otherwise whats the point huh? No point if its a chore! So obviously there has to be a sexy lady in there!

Yes yes, its the old cliche again but fudge it!
The idea I have, is based on another Character I invented (I invent a lot of characters!) called Aria. Aria is a Gentically engineered warrior designed and trained as Warrior of the Far Flung Future. She pilots a Massive Mech and has a bunch of small Robot helpers!
Her Mech is sentient, as are her little Robot buddies. And im thinking of calling her Mech “SLAVE”.
Hheheheh, see what I did there?
She’s the master and her robot buddies are her Slaves, her servents.
Clever dont you think?

Pretty simple and straight forward so far. Yup. But im going to go deeper into this and have twisty turns, but I need to nail it down more before I reveal too much.
But basically, she’s going to be a Servent herself, and so the chain goes on.
You may think you are the master of your destiny, but most of us are a slave to the system somewhere along the line. And Aria was created for a purpose, she’s a slave, born and bred as a slave to the Government she works for.
I’ll be pulling influences from all over the place in this im sure.
Hmm, yep, I think I quite like that idea. So no nicking it!!!

Hmmm, ok. I put Pencil to Paper tonight and just threw a few sketches about. And heres some of what I cane up with. Top left is one idea for the image. But by NO MEANS anywhere near a final idea.
Its not very engaging yet so I need to work on that. You can see the design for the critter in the bottom left of the image idea at the bottom of the page. In the image, the idea is that he’s getting a message from the ‘Suits’ making sure their Servent, (the Girl) is going ont he mission without protest.
Im not settled into this idea yet, and it may change a lot yet.
Anyway, id love some feedback on the concept please. Am I way of base here with this?

I love the look of your big headed beasties! You do big/powerful so well! Yours has got a narrative which I really want to see develop… go go! It’s almost like you need a panel format to tell it…

Well Hello there!
Im back after my Easter Break and today I got the chance to have a little doodle. My good intentions of working on this during my Visit home got kinda sidetracked, but never mind. I can get back into it now.
So heres another little concept sketch. Better more dynamic angle. Kinda cheesecakey though. Which isnt what I really want here. But we’ll see. Still throwing ideas around in my head anyway.
Any comments or thoughts would be appreciated.
I like the idea of doing a sci-fi image, but I do sometimes think of doing something darker and more contempory. Hmmm, we’ll see.
Hey there… looking good so far. She could be escaping from being held as a servant from that machine lord! Youd have to change the compostion and fascial expressions of course… but would make for a cool pic. Maybe she could look a bit scared as she glances back over her shoulder just in time to see the machine lord falling into her trap. You could have his lare exploding as well! … achem… sorry about that, good luck with this! - Jez
No no no, dont be sorry. I like ideas been thrown at me for this as its not set in stone yet.

A More interesting image, better dynamic, just generally better.
I like the idea of having the girl on the bike, ready to Zip off towards the Huge Mech, thrusters blasting the ground beneath her whipping up the dust and debris on the ground all about her.
Adds a sense of urgency to the whole thing which I like.
Other bits and bobs will be added no doubt, but I think this will be the basic composition.
Please let me know what you guys think. Any ideas for composition, dynamic etc etc.

'Ey oop! Technically this is going great Andy, but I’m not sure what the relationship between the girl and the Mech actually is… who is the master/mistress? Is she its servant or is the big beastie slave to her whim? Hows about having them (her) more facing the viewpoint, perhaps it reaching out to her with a long grasping hand…? Hmmm… thought I’d run that up the flagpole and see if anyone saluted… Stick it out on the backporch and see if the cat licks it up… Put it… THWACK!

Hmmm, well, she is the pilot of the Mech and thus its slave to her.
But how to suggest that? Of course I can write “Mech Pilot” on her suit somewhere but thats being a bit obvious maybe. In addition to what you see on there, I am planning to have a few little ‘Bots’, little guys flying around her that help her out doing stuff. So they would be servents to her as well.
Hmmm, just had a think. I could give her, and the little robots I will be putting in, various guns and such, and have the Mech in the background wreaking all kinds of havoc. The Girl etc would be pointing off to it, getting ready to take it down town to china town.

Well, yes, this is a little bit of a left tun at the Traffic lights. I know.
But anyway, my other image wasnt really capturing my imagination, my heart wasnt in it really. So I nixed it on the head.
So, did some thinking.
This is what I came up with, something much darker and more my style.
Here we see a Woman who has sold her soul to a Lovecraftian type Elder Darkness in ruturn for Power, power to weild magic and do her masters bidding.
A clearer take on the whole master servent thing then my last idea, and something I can get my teeth into.
I love doing darker images like this so this should be better for me.
Any suggestions on pose or composition before I go further would be appreciated.
I know its been a while since my last update. I’ve been busy. Hopefully I will get time to see this through though.

Excellent concept so far. This actually got me thinking about a movie I like - Road to Eldorado if you’ve seen that one. At one point in that movie, a huge stone cat (I think it was a cat) is brought to life, and its master controls it by mimicking the moves he wants it to make.
Like, lifting his hand and stomping it down, and it does the same. I’m not entirely sure, but I was thinking – it would be sort of neat to have something like that going on here. Maybe her lifting her hand, clawlike, and the ‘servant’ doing the exact same in unison with her.

Hmmm, interesting idea Linda. I have a few other idea for positioning and composition, I need to mess about with it a bit more, but keep checking back, your input is hugely appreciated.
