ok. a quick colorsketch! I want the little girl to be all alone with her creature in the woods. I’ll probably add a small creak and waterfall. maby a path from where they came. I’m not quite shure about the magic she’s doing but it’s ok for now. I want her to have an angry, I’m invincible smerk on her face. Her pet will have an expression of fear when he looks at her and her magic. His leesh is very lose just to show that he can escape if he wants to, but he’s to afraid.

ok. this is kind of what I had in mind. I’m trying not to get inspired by fantasy. I want to make something that feels more close to reality. This is a black woman and her child that’s being separated by a bunch of white people. I want to illustrate the helplesness, fear and desperation that the woman and her child feels in this moment. I’m going back to the appartheit and slavery time with this image. I know it doesn’t look much right know but for you who has some imagination you probably see the image I do and for you who doesn’t, please drop in later when I’ve worked some more on it.

hi all. I woke up this morning, looked at my sketch and trew it away. I didn’t like it at all. Not because it looked like crap, all my art does that in the beginning but because it just didn’t work for me, so I made a new one. I’m not shure that I’ll keep this one either but I defenetely like this one much more so I’ll post a very quick linesketch and an eqally quick colorsketch. Thanks.

I put some more thought into my little girl in the forrest and I decided that I like the idea. (even though the concept looks like crap.) But I’m going to put her into a kind of dead forrest-swamp environment. She’ll still be holding a beast by a leach inb her right hand but in her left she’ll be holding a teddybear by his arm. The teddybears head will be hanging from threads and with the stuffing sticking out. In the background you’ll se this big magical castle. Itä’s where her father, the big worlock, and she lives. She is spoiled and knows that nothing can hurt her and therefore she likes to be in the forrest at night and herras inocent animals. =)

great start. just keep on working the concept til all details and components are nailed. I like the beast and the girl as well, i can see a lots of potential in it.
as for the details, make sure on what anatomical componets parts are based and research carefully. i assume you go for batwings on the beast. also look at the feet. for the environment, it doesnt work forme yet, but its wip, so you might find a nice solution for that too. keep it up, have much fun and best luck
