I am learning Mash and so far it seems like it is going to have a big impact on 3D animation. One thing that is not really clear is how to set up a Mash networks so that they start, stop or are triggered by the frame number in the maya time line. For instance I have been using the MASH curve node to animate from one end of a curve to another. However I want this curve animation to start on frame 101 when my camera points in that direction. Does anyone have any suggestions?

In case anyone reads the above thread I have discovered that the delay node does the trick. However as of Maya 2017 it seems to slow the playback on the timeline dramatically.

In Maya 2016/2017 you can just disconnect the curve node from the time attribute (Right click on Time and choose disconnect) and then animate it by hand so that the animation happens when you want it to. In Maya 2018 set the animation speed to 0 and animate the Offset Along Curve attribute.
The Delay node (in follow the leader mode) will trigger multiple graph calculations, it’s extremely slow, so only use it if you really have to.
Best,
