Mapping Object and VRay

#1

Hi all,

After banging my head for a while trying to understand why the Mapping Object Op wasnt working, even tho it showed ok in the viewport, I figured out that the problem was with VRay (it renders fine with Scanline or MRay), it doesnt seem to understand it at all.

As anyone experienced this problem? Any work around?

Cheers

Hey Carlos, can you post some example of the problem you’re having? I never had a problem with vray and pflow, but I would like to take a look at it.

…I’m getting the same error your are when jumping back to vray

Hi Flávio, I’m not at work right now, will post sum demo scene tomorrow. I also never had any issues with VRay n PFlow, apart now. It took me a while to figure out what the problem was, as in the viewport the mapping was showing correctly, but when rendered, it renders the map per particle, rather than taking the mapping from the object.

I’ve just tested it and the same happened here, it’s really strange that its not working… maybe you should report it to chaos group.
Well, the only workaround it to use the mesher compound object, it’s getting the mapping here in my tests.

I’ve had issues using multiple UV channels with particles in pflow with Vray.

For instance. Take an object with 1 UV channel for diffuse, 1 UV channel for bump.

Use the Shape Instance on the object.

Render in scanline and your object will use both UV channels but if you render in Vray it will only use 1 UV channel.
