Malfunction using trees from curves script

Hello! I’ve just started using blender so im a bit of a newb.

I’m trying to create a tree by following a nice tutorial from blenderguru.

But the problem occures when setting up the texture using the trees from curves script.
Just as I hit the “generate from selection”-button the twigs i created just disapears.

Is there anyone who’s experienced the same phenomenon or knows what the Hell is going on?
