making shapes

I am doing a texture of enigmatic but I cant figure out how to go about how to add the triangle (at the top of the blade)and squares (going down the blade) detail

heres a pic of my current tex

any hint on how to go about doing this ?

A brush? Perhaps a custom shape? Several ways to achieve this. You could simply just draw it.

I did it by cutting out a texture and using skew to shape it the way I wanted but there really has to be a better way

I am not good at drawling with my hand so its hard to make shape

Ahhhh, you must learn the pen tool. Master the pen tool and you can create any shape you want very quickly. :wink:
