Making Rope

Goal: Making a piece of rope that stretches between two points. Width and tautness of the rope do not change, and we’re avoiding dynamics of any kind in this project.

I’m attempting to find the simplest/elegant/efficient solution to this problem. The rope in question will appear to be passing through a pulley system in the background of a scene, and therefore shouldn’t require more than a stretchy cylinder to pull it off.

Suggestions?
