Making polygons from nparticle instances?


I have been trying to figure out how to make a polygon mesh from instanced Maya nParticles. I am doing this in Maya 2020. I have done a lot of searching and so far I have only been able to find old mel/python scripts that do not work in Maya 2020 or forums posts that claim that the MASH “bake instancer to objects” utility will work. I have tried to use the Mash utility on my particle instancer and each time it crashes Maya2020. Can someone point me to something that might work?
