Am I missing something or is the Main Feature List not here yet for 7?
Maybe all the features have been revealed in the preliminary list and other posts here?
Mike.
Main Feature List???
hopefully they will release the full feature list sooner or later… and more images.
kinda silence marketing plan…
Been quiet for 2 weeks. A final feature list and estimated shipping time would be good, especially for those who prepaid for the upgrade.
Hello Everyone,
First, thanks for all of your patience, it is a scramble (and that’s a good thing) here.
We are getting pages updated daily, here is a page that went up yesterday,

Thanks Phil, a quick question.
I was one of the people that jumped in when I got your e-mail saying - Buy 6.6 now and get 7.0 for free! - I totlly missed that pesky little phraze that went ‘* Certain Conditions Apply’. I seem to remember that you explained somewhere what the conditions were (which I have forgotton), but I wanted to ask, does anyone actually get 7 free when they purchesed 6.6?
Mike.
[QUOTE=philsphlop]Hi Mike,
What key number did you upgrade?
Sorry to be dumb, but which one is the key number?
Mike.
The feature set looks impressive, as do the first round of samples. The reflections on the Teapot and Fishboat Craft (the windscreen) are very nice.
Xpressionist is now a mini-application development environment. Wow. That alone means that third party developers and scripting jockeys (as well as hacks like myself) can really stand the program on it’s ears.
Looking forward to delivery, as well as the release of more samples, documentation, tutorials, etc.
Phil, just so you know, the image about glossy reflection on the page, right to the Ottoman chair doesn’t link properly.
When you click on it, you can see onr more time the Ottoman chair and when i’ve tried to crank up the number manually, it leads to a blank page.
Hope it helps.
And those renders look really really good !
Cheers,
Laurent aka Tartiflette

loock at your dongle.
Thanks Felix, I was having trouble initializing 6.6 - the code I had didn’t work and the email with the unlock info on it I found quite confusing - that’s why I wanted to be sure what was being talked about.
Having said that Phil was very quick to respond to my problem and sent a new code straight away.
Mike.
Hi All,
Thanks for the bad link notification, we’ll get that fixed.
To everyone, as pages go up any other link problems or grammatical errors, please let me know. The easiest way to notify me is phil@eitechnologygroup.com
Thanks again,
Phil Martin
Things are looking very good Phil !
Can I ask about the example by Tomas of the interior - what am I looking at there ? Is it a VR image used for the IBL and then 3D chairs added ? Or is it a complete scene created in EI ? Whichever it is its fantastically realistic and something I need to be able to replicate in my own work.
Keep up the good work.
James
The title of Tomas’ work is “Chair Test”. Given that, I’d say the room is real and the white slatted chair with the chrome frame and wheels is CG.
Looks great - I’d love to see how this was set up, rendered, and composited. Very nice work!
You’re all in for a treat then!
Tomas wrote a fantastic tutorial that covers just that
Ian
Look´s really nice, those images!
Here´s a link for some high res light probes, so that you guys have something to play with, when EIAS 7.0 comes out.

mmm… i have the feeling that we may have sub pixel displacement…
Anyway I’m very happy with Roddeo inside EIAS, I cant wait.
cheers,
Diego
Damn! i´m droling and my mom said don´t do so…
Can´t wait for the next week.
Any news about the final list?

You’ll also be happy to know that Paralumino, Brian Buxton and Ian Waters will be releasing an inexpensive series of HDRI images, in all mapping formats, to help celebrate the v7’s new capabilities. Additionally, Fact Furniture, will also be finished to include a number of detailed furniture sets, all UV’d to your viewing satisfaction.
Stay Tuned for details.
There was some talk at one time about speed enhancements coming in V7 - especially in the raytraced soft shadows. Any speed boosts in the GI also?
I like the idea of having HDRI maps in a refraction sky light - that’ll help make good looking glass. Are there any examples using this feature?
EI’s caustics look great and are some of the fastest I’ve seen but if area shadows haven’t been sped up then the whole glass product-shot stuff at hi-res still is very unrealistic - the render times are extremely slow with glass and area shadows.
I think EI can hold it’s own quite well for product shots, especially with unique shaders such as MForge (by the way Phil, I’m still waiting for a reply to my email) - dramatically increased the speed in shadows and GI would be a nice feature and would help day to day production.
