:: How do I enter?

:: What are the rules on photomanipulation in the 2D challenge?

All 2D entries must be created entirely from scratch.


:: Can you incorporate a scene or environment with the character?

Yes, although it will not affect the way that we judge the entries. The important thing is that you create a character. Anything extra is entirely up to you.


:: Is it possible for you to team up with a buddy for a double entry?

No, single entries only please.

This includes having a friend do the concept design - this is NOT allowed.


:: Can you enter both 2D and 3D sections of the challenge?

Yes, but the two entries have to be totally different (ie not based on the same concept).


:: What are the legal conditions with regards to the rights of ownership of the final images?

This is mentioned on the contest pages, but here again for clarity:

[li] The sponsors of this Challenge may use shortlisted and winning artwork for marketing purposes only in the context of the Machineflesh Challenge, and will clearly credit the artist.

[li] No artwork will be used in any fashion without credit given to the artist.
[/li]
[li] No artwork will knowingly be sold, in whole or in part, by the sponsors.
[/li]
[li] It is not any of the sponsor’s intention to keep any of the non-winning artwork other than for purposes of deciding a winner and longer than the length of this contest.
[/li]
[li] The artist will be asked permission for the use of their artwork if outside of the scope of the contest or the above mentioned purpose(s).
[/li]
[li] The artist is allowed to use the images created for personal promotion. E.g. submission for EXPOSE’ and other galleries.

:: Can one incorporate a generic model pre-made or does one have to use solely objects that are made from scratch?

Absolutely NOT. The challenge is a work-in-progress challenge and everything must be made from scratch. Entries found using previously made/commercially sold models or elements will be automatically disqualified. This has always been a rule in our challenges.
Please note that this includes models made by yourself (ie it is not limited to commercially available model packages).


:: Can you enter more than one entry per catagory in the challenge?

No, please limit yourself to a maximum of only one 2D and/or one 3D entry.
