Wow, each update had great advances from the previous one! Either you’re a fast modeler (and a darn good one, at that), or I’m not grasping the time intervals right
Good luck with the texturing and environment!

Thanks raxx…
It’s so far taken me about 2-5 hours of modelling between each interval…
Got this much done for the environment.
I think it’s coming along nicely, but it’ll look sooo much better with textures.
Let me know what you think!
Btw…I’ve officially gone over the 1,000,000 polys mark.
This is the most elaborate still image project I’ve ever done at this point (which is funny, cause it’s also the smallest…get it? ;))
Also…the louse isn’t posed at this point…it’s just basically in there to show what it looks like in the scene.
In the final image it’ll be in a little more dynamic position.
This is one of my favourites! I love the design and the whole idea lends itself to lots of cool render and shader effects. Great job, can’t say I have any crits.

Great surface effects you have done to the hairs roots !
Nice !
But for the moment here is something strange in the lighting which let understand it is a model more than a real view, perhaps it’s due to the shadows too much dark, but perhaps it’s because you want to put a light which come from an optic apparel which is on the top of the scene ? It could be cool
By the way i love your stuff !
Hmmm…seems that the last texturing update I posted was removed when cgtalk reverted to a backup after the recent hack attempt…so I’ll repost it.
Once again, no textures on the louse’s legs yet :).
fantastic work. You must be pretty happy with it ivanisivich. Its so understated and you’ve managed to capture the louses sense of scale very well.
And the colours are fantastic. I love it =)

Looking Good!
nice assortment of colours on a truely amazing model nicely posed into a great composition.
Well done
Yeah, thats really cool bloodsucker!
Strange how the last and image before the last one
are very different, or it is just me?? There is much more creepyness in the one before the last one IMO.
Excellent work!!! ![]()
And had to say again that I loved “BeastWithin”!
Fantastic flick!

couldnt’ve said it better myself.
Well…doesn’t look like I’ll be entering after all.
Renders are already coming out covered in white splotches that I’ve been having to paint out (despite tweaking VRay like mad to get rid of them)…and my computer simply freezes when I render at (pretty much) any resolution larger than the current (whether I render separate regions or not). Looks like I need more ram or something.
So, since the entries must be print resolution, I’m out by default.
Thanks for all of your support along the way! I’m happy with the way it turned out.
Maybe next time for me :)…
