Please, let yourself express your idea to its fullest!

I simply love it!!!

:applause: :applause:

#33

Wow, this is really cool. Great idea and the modelling is very tight too. Great work, no crits =)

#34

well I may as well just drop out now. jeez.

awesome work, can’t wait to see some more progress and some textures. excuse me for being lazy, what software are you using?

#35

very cool…

you’ve put alot of effort into it, it’s paying off.
nice renders, keep it going.

#36

Great Update You’ve done !
Nothing to crits, beautifull speciment
Will you model some nano modified larva of lice snapped to hairs ? it would be cool

#37

very cool, I love the mechanical parts. for the life part, I am a litle less fan…maybe because there is no texture yet…

#38

Holy! ****

This is looking  :bounce:

No way you can mess it up with texturing.

#39

Thanks everyone!

I’m on 3dsmax 5.0 and the latest renders came from VRay (about a 5 minute render)

Btw…it’s around 600,000 polys…

Also…in the final environment I plan to add things like slimy mechanical (freshly laid) egg pods around the louse…

Texturing’s going to be…interesting ;)…but I’m going to make the rest of the evironment before I start texturing though.

#40

I really like your bio bloby spider…

reminds me the bio brain boss in starship troopers.

really cool design :hmm:

#41

Wow, each update had great advances from the previous one! Either you’re a fast modeler (and a darn good one, at that), or I’m not grasping the time intervals right

Good luck with the texturing and environment!

#42

Thanks raxx…

It’s so far taken me about 2-5 hours of modelling between each interval…

#43

Got this much done for the environment.

I think it’s coming along nicely, but it’ll look sooo much better with textures.

Let me know what you think!

#44

Btw…I’ve officially gone over the 1,000,000 polys mark.

This is the most elaborate still image project I’ve ever done at this point (which is funny, cause it’s also the smallest…get it? ;))

Also…the louse isn’t posed at this point…it’s just basically in there to show what it looks like in the scene.

In the final image it’ll be in a little more dynamic position.

#45

This is one of my favourites! I love the design and the whole idea lends itself to lots of cool render and shader effects. Great job, can’t say I have any crits.

Wiro

#46

Vey cool progress so far man!
Awesome detail!
Wait to see this stuff textured !

#47

Great surface effects you have done to the hairs roots !
Nice !
But for the moment here is something strange in the lighting which let understand it is a model more than a real view, perhaps it’s due to the shadows too much dark, but perhaps it’s because you want to put a light which come from an optic apparel which is on the top of the scene ? It could be cool
By the way i love your stuff !

#48

WOWO, I’m very impressed by your style and the achievment.

Big respect, man!!!

#49

Hmmm…seems that the last texturing update I posted was removed when cgtalk reverted to a backup after the recent hack attempt…so I’ll repost it.

Once again, no textures on the louse’s legs yet :).
