Here’s the basic idea - WW2/Sci-Fi inspired Iron soldier - where his lower torso is part tank part spider. The first of a series of experiments from the dark works secret compound. My initial thought was to build a set around him, my second thought was to make it more along the lines of a propoganda poster - something along the lines of “Buy war bonds to put an end to our unhuman enemies!”

Fantastic sketch!

#4

yeah, great sketch. And I always love to see a super german soldier.

#5

Love it. My vote is for the propoganda poster. It would be cool if you did it in a Art Deco style…can’t wait.

#6

Outstanding sketch. Great idea, although seems that even with all that metal around him, this guy would be easy to take out in a fire fight.

How about a shell behind him that looks like it has been opened? He could drop forward into a crouched position, the shell could slam shut and he’d use mechancal sensors/cameras to fight. Imagine this scene is after intense combat and he has popped the shell to cool off and get a break from the cybernetic senses input.

Thanks!

I"m toying around with the idea of adding more costume.

Donny - I like the shell idea - Worth exploring.

Another idea that occured to me is to go the zombie route. Might be cool to play up the idea that a legion of super soldiers have come back from the dead.

#8

that’s a fantastic sketch. and the propaganda poster - great idea.

#9

wow, nice sketching and the idea is cool, u can add a head lights to the spider so when night comes he can see what is he shooting at:p , the concept rocks man:buttrock:

#10

coool idea!the propaganda poster idea is good too

#11

I also have to vote for the propaganda poster. Seem’s to be a very “hollywood” stlye of concept.

(Like a scifi “we must defeat the superpowered nazi’s” kind flick)

#12

Very cool idea And the sketch is great!
I’m keen on watching the model.

#13

Here’s a quick update - I wanted to play around with the poster idea a little more and work out some color schemes. If I go the battlefield route vs the scientist building him in a lab route I think it makes more sense to give him a little bit more armor. I can’t wait to jump in on the model.

#14

yeah i like. good luck with the modelling stuff

#15

Awesome sketch. More! More!

#16

bump

I love the poster idea! stick with it. Whenever you get sick of modelling, go back and keep designing and re-designing the poster. Try and sort out your composition of the poster early on, so you can save time on the modelling.

(Or do you have to show stuff from every angle?)

The whole brief is to have replaced a part of the body with a machine. Obviously his legs have been replaced, but you need to work on the way they merge. Currently it’s a torso coming out of robot legs. They should appear as one form/being/entity. It’s all about unity.
