Basically my idea is for a baseball player that has all of his uniform and “accessories” (ie helmet, bat, etc…) integrated into his body. The idea is still quite rough and needs a lot of fine tuning.

#3

some more sketches…

#4

Ok, some head designs

Now the next step is to work out the composition and refine detail in the character.

Please feel free to give any comments/criticism/ideas that you may have…

This guy could bat cannon balls or bullets.:surprised

#6

Nice concepts mate.

Went into FTI today, got a copy of my work. Damn, i miss going there. I walked in, and they were all playing Desert Combat. Geez, those guys work hard

Although i will be going there for the final milestones, see what happened while i wasn’t there ( and to go to Clancy’s  )

Looking forwards to seeing how you go in this compo.

Finally I have gotten around to refining my character concept. Cheers
for the cannon ball idea joerhoney, I sort of used that and integrated it with some kind of metallic orb plated ball. I still have to come up with an environment for the character. The obvious would be a baseball field but Im thinking of designing something a little different.

Started modelling, even though I still have to design an environment. Just needed a change from doing concepts. This is only early stages of modelling I want to refine the proportions of the character before I start to integrate all the machine elements. Feel free to give feedback…

#9

just a closer shot of the head/face so far…

#10

Finally added more detail to the character. Also stylized the proportions a bit more.

#11

decided that I didn’t like the head so I’ve changed to be more realistic proportions

#12

Finally got a Wacom tablet so I wanted to do some texturing as soon as possible. I still gotta go back and finish the machine parts of the model.

Note that I haven’t given any attention to the eyes yet…
