Hi everyone… I have decided to put my name forward for the competition and see if I can do something.
I am off to get some refrence will be back to post them if some ideas pop up. And I almost forget… bst of luck to all the others taking part.![]()
Machineflesh 3D Challenge Entry: Sheldon Serrao
Ok here is my plan…
Lets say implants were around say for the next 5 years… people who could afford them used the attachments to become more advanced than the normal human being… thus becomming more powerful and stonger…either in strength or in knowledge.
The middle and poor classes of society being left out forms an army to eradicate any altered organic life forms…
So my pic will depict a scene where mass clensings of altered humans and animals are killed and burried. I know its going to be all bloddy and gruesome but I have decided and so it shall be done.
Going on concepts and soon will upload.
edit… here is something about what I am thinking off:-

Here is my sketch of what I have in mind… I love the composition Goya used in his painting and decided to use it in mine. More will be uploaded soon.
Best luck, keep em updates comin’! love Goya too… lookin forward to some awesome work :buttrock:
Nice idea…If i were you, I would copy the compoition of the Goya painting EXACTLY, except with my enhanced and uninhanced people.
Its a very well known painting, and would have a nice air of familiarity with it.
I was actually considering something similar, but wth the Mona-Lisa, and ‘borgifying’ her up a little bit.

great concept for a movie, keltuzar! i love the idea! it’s a bit similar to a futuristic screenplay of my own in which everbody is genetically enhanced, but they’ve got these natural-born prisoners stuck in a prison on the bottom of the ocean. The prisoners escape, inciting a massive revolution and voila! you’ve got the perfect setup for kickass action!!!
anyway not to sure about copying the Goya composition idea. it’s a cool idea but you better check if that fits within the rules for copyright in this challenge. You know, if it’s a recognizable composition…
Anyway, good luck!
I don’t think that duplicating the composition of another famous work would be against the rules. You’re certainly welcome to be inspired or pay homage to great artists with your piece.
Just make sure that you don’t cross the line of plagerism. Kinda’ hard to do with a 3D representation of a 2D work since you’ll be creating the character models from scratch. But, I hope that you know what I mean.
I just receiced an email from Leigh

Hi Sheldon,
Please keep all your composition and design elements original. One of the images submitted in the Alienware challenge was not eligible to win any prizes because it’s composition was borrowed from a Luis Royo painting.

Leigh

what do you think I should do?
Go for it. If anything, it will be a great piece of work in the end, no matter what.
Good luck.

umm, don’t disqualify yourself from the competition man. After all the hard work you’ll have to put in at least be able to take home a reward for it.
Just come up with your own composition for the idea 'cause the idea is great. Happy Sketching!
Well, Leigh does run the comps-so listen to her!
Keep it as an ‘execution’ theme, just change the composition. Heaven know there are limitless possibilitys with that in mind.
I think that that ‘rule’ is there, because of copywrite issues if they use it as a promotional piece.
Just re-think the composition, with keeping the same theme.

Not really - it’s just that originality is a strong theme that we like to encourage
